Wait, what if I take Perkins in 03-04?

22.8 Per, .580 TS%, 22.9 TRB%, 17.4 AST%, 31.1 USG

It's pretty easy to cook the stats however we want if choosing the exact cut-off for these requirements. I mean, someone posted a stat cutoff showing Antoine Walker in the same category as Jordan and Magic.
you've convinced me, lets stop using stats to compare players.

Spoiler:
butnahhhhhhhhhhhhh

it's not like i cherry picked Toney's career bests when i chose those numbers. Toney's career numbers are .565 TS%, 25.9% USG, and 23.9 AST%, and his pre injury numbers are all well above the cut-offs i chose. i thought i was pretty damn generous, and the results are just a testament to how good Toney actually was.

besides, i could have required having a FG% of > 52% along with everything else and that would have only left Toney and MJ

Haha, even Stackhouse?

I was set on taking Swen Nater fwiw, but a couple of people recommended Perkins and being a fairly new to SE-NBA, I thought a lot of people loved Perkins.

I think Perk was a really bad pick. I still think Eaton was an awful pick. Yeah I know fit blah blah but guys like PJ Brown and Ratliff are going 100s of picks later.

I think in general, quite a few stiff-ish big men went to early.

its just that the people who Love Perk are more vocal about it than those who dont, imo.

Even those who arent big on him dont necessarily hate him, they just dont thnk highly of him as others do.

Weird how Eaton went from "not that bad just think you could have done better" to "awful pick."

Weird.

If you are comparing Eaton to Ratliff and PJ Brown then you obviously are missing the point.

Anyway, not going to get into it again, but try and stay somewhat consistent.

I didn't say you should stop using stats to compare players. I do feel you are picking arbitrary numbers to make your guy look better than he is. You picked 57% TS. Why that number? Why not 60%? Why not 55% You picked 26% usage. Why not 23% or 29%? Because the exact numbers you picked just so happen to match with Andrew Toney's numbers.

it became awful when nearly every C taken after him up until Smits was better than him (sans Perk), and most I think would have been better fits. Though I get where you're coming from with the shaq stopper stuff, but really you just need 18 fouls. My guess is Eaton would have been around, but maybe not.

don't worry your team still rocks really hard.

I don't recall it getting much support in the thread. I mean I think like Epi liked it, but that's not a good sign. Everyone I talked to or recall speaking of it in the aftermath thought it was pretty horrible.

Wrane woulda been better served not asking whoever he did for their list imo

Don't want to call anyone out but also I deleted all those PM because my inbox was jammed. I think at least 3 people did though.

and the sign it's REALLY bad is when even the biggest KPerk lover in the world (kc) still thinks it's terrible

perk definitely deserves to be drafted in this thing imo, but like in round 9 as a defensive big off the bench. I think he really is a premiere 1v1 post defender, and a plus help defender. He holds his own better than anyone against the top Cs in the league right now.

again, they happen to match up with his career numbers, not a single best season. pretty big difference imo.

You did seem like you were kinda lovin it when he got picked. Epi was talkin how he would have traded up 10 picks to get him, Chilltown and Victor wanted him.

So basically you're all nuts. He's a low usage defensive stopper who kinda sucks offensively in the scope of a modern era draft. You Celts fans can get kinda silly in the heat of the moment

Seriously I really don't care that Wiper did a lot of drugs last night. If that was a valid excuse my college GPA would be a lot ****ing higher and Josh Hamilton wouldn't be sleeping on the couch tonight.
