There are many dunks that have similar value here, but I think this is the best because the dunker's celebration is to WALK OVER HIS OPPONENT and effectively PUT HIS NUTS IN HIS MOUTH. Then, while never cracking a smile, he points his finger in a legendary trash talker's face and says something that he wouldn't say in front of his momma.

I'd like to just point out that JR's dunk was also a buzzer beater

so the dunk had:

1) legit megaelite aesthetic appeal
2) soulpozzing of los spurs/charge-drawers/"defensive fundamentals"/******ed college>NBA arguments/Gary Neal
3) perfect comedy, from crossover turboing to nutsonface to hanging on rim to meloheadnod to reverse angles and replays both which really should be a .gif meme but isn't so its ok to like this dunk, radiohead fans/hipsters
4) buzzer beater!
5) 3 point play! so also very valuable to the team for all u winEV-nuts out there.

but also JR MFing Smith!

I'm surprised at some dunks that I thought were obvious early first rd picks not being picked. I can think of two of them that are better than most of the ones picked

I tend to agree this. The GOAT dunks tend to be a combo of Swag, supreme athleticism, and humiliation of your opponent.

Kemp over Lister had more of it imo.

I actually had this dunk ranked #2 behind Ewing on Pippen, the absolute violence of the dunk and the way varejao falls are absolutely incredible. This dunk and the Pippen dunk are the only 2 dunks which still sometimes make scream OH **** even after i've seen it 50+ times. Wade's celebration after is great as well too. Also has lol labron getting blocked right before it and jogging back when he could have prevented it by going full speed.

pippen pick is nice, but "clear #1" is standard epipen hyperbole

wade pick is ok, didn't think of it on a short list of top dunks.

Jordan on Ewing is what I thought would go #1
