I guess I think it's going to be a stretch to make it. I want to see how he does in the post KG/Pierce/Ray era.

hof type talent does not equal lock for the hof

he def could make it, i agree it will come down to how he does once the big 3 era is over but i suspect ainge being a good gm will continue to find ways to give us good pieces around rondo (altho obv not as good as the big 3). not to mention boston ownership willing to spend over the cap always helps as well.

Nope - just an opportunity to point out that Heinsohn sees the game better than some folks give him credit for.

I, for one, was scoffing at Heinsohn assessment during year two.

Heinsohn was much closer to the target than I was.

Where does Rondo rank among NBA PGs right now?

oh come on sailorsaint, u obv know heinsohn makes ton of homerific statements about pretty much all of our young guys and even vets, just cause he was right on rondo (and to some extent big al/perk) doesn't really mean anything considering hes wrong on tons more of our young guys

4. Rondo?

Gap

5. Kidd?
6. Billups
7. Rose

Not really sure after that: Nelson, Felton, Miller, Harris, Westbrook, jennings, Curry, Williams are probably all in the discussion.

This really is the end of the conversation. It was mind boggling! We have seen terrible calls were the ref who makes the call is pretty much apologizing the second after he makes it and yet there is no overturn on the call.

In this case we had a ref who was pretty much out of the play overrule a ref who was right in the thick of it on a call that should have never been questioned regardless if it was correct or not.

TNT and ESPN are pretty not allowed to question calls made by officials. You'll often hear them say "that was a tough call". The only guy really saying anything about just how bad the refs are is Jeff Van Gundy and even he is a bit restrained.

If a coach or player questions the ref he is fined and his comments aren't taken seriously by the league.

Rondo will need to develop something resembling a shot if he wants to end up in HOF territory. The rest of the skills are obviously there. But, if he can keep opposing defenses even a little honest with his shot, he becomes so much harder to defend.

I'd put Billups ahead of Kidd. Maybe even Rose, who doesn't play with near the amount of offensive talent that Kidd does. Felton and Miller wouldn't even make the list, and I'm not sure which Williams that is.

Kidd was making the hall even if his DAL transformation never happened.

Not sure about Felton or Miller either. That's why I didn't have anyone after 8. Just mentioned guys who could be put into the equation. The Williams I'm referring to is Mo Williams.

I feel like we've gone over this a million times this year. Kidd was still a ~33% 3 point shooter pre-Dallas. That's plenty good enough to provide somewhat of a threat. Rondo is at 25%. That's not.

rondo's 25% with most of his attempts coming at shot clock bailouts.

I'm not calling Rondo Kidd, though I think he's probably Rondo's "most similar at age" comparison, nor do I think he's a favorite to make the hall. But he's not a huge dog either.
