Maybe it's cuz I'm old, and played at a fairly high level, but pickup games are just awful dudes who think they're Allen Iverson, or meatheads who just foul.

Playing with good players who know how to play basketball is the best. Playing with randoms in pickup is terrible and almost always ends in a fight

Couple of points;

There's a lot of parity this draft. No teams have been horribly drafted. It also seems like the 'overrated' players have been pretty evenly distributed. LFC and AIM's teams prbly have the most with at least two each; DRose/Monta and Kobe/Gay along with maybe Zach. But most of us have at least one, I've already discussed you with Vuc, myself with DDR, whoever ended up with Tyreke etc etc. Sometimes there's something mitigating it somewhat like Gobert's underratedness for AIM/Hawk for example.

Point is it seems to all be evening out and edits shouldn't be done. Noze prbly has the effect the least and he has the favorite which underscores the point that it's not needed for balancing. Although I assume Collison may be a point or two higher than merited.

We should also run the single season as discussed in the OP but because you're not going to continue it on beyond year 1 we should also run it back four more times or something and see how much randomness went into year 1 and how even all the teams really are.

I haven't looked at ratings, but LOL at calling bench players overrated. I've already outlined my plan for Rose, as if this were real life. I'd like him sat for the first 41 games of the season and then gradually bring him into games after the All-Star break. He's only overrated for his injury risk. He's still a good player. When has he ever looked bad?

Monta Ellis is a straight scorer who does only that and nothing else. Is he rated as an elite defender in the game or something? I refuse to look at ratings so you'll have to humor me. This is more an LOL on you for ratings hunting

Right, it's prbly just an issue of terms. I'm thinking of the routine 2-3 night a week full court game where 30 different random guys will show up and it's still considered pickup teams compared to league games.

Some of them former NCAA, not random middle of the day Saturday with guys who just got done lifting or teenagers like you're alluding to. I'm just thinking best case pickup games and you're thinking worst and/or it's a regional thing.

I'll gladly take 17.7ppg w/30mpg as my PG off the bench. Will only need 15-20 minutes out of him a night anyway

League games are mostly fine, but full of LOLz unless you get a really good league made up of mostly the players you described. To me a pickup game is going to a random park, gym, YMCA, rec center open to anyone.

If you get a 10-20 good players then of course playing can be elite. But pickup to me by definition is open to anyone and that's the worst

The problem with your arguments is that they're the same casual fan sort-by-ppg rating that causes that sort of player to receive a high rating in a video game despite being a net negative player irl.
