I do think Phi smokes NYK that same night though, grabbed that at 3.5 right when it came out. Embiid probably shoot 26 FTs
last year Bron was playing on a hurt foot, they might still lose but he's in much better shape than last year, they just can't hold it together for a full game vs them

Was a couple rows from the court last night in MSG last night, wild atmosphere. I've been to 5 or 6 games at MSG before but this is my first playoff game there, totally different atmosphere.

For 43 minute and 35 seconds was ready to name my next child Tyrese, then got a 10/10 chaos dagger right in the eye

Absolutely crushing loss. Maxey played one of the best games I've ever seen from him 35-10-9 on 22 shots undersells it. So many of his buckets were incredibly difficult, late in the shot clock and in absolutely critical moments. Embiid is obviously not close to 100%. I don't think he jumped 6 inches off the floor the entire game, and he can't run. Just painfully dragging himself up and down the court, hitting a shot here, making a tip there and all of a sudden he has 34 10 and 6 going at 50% speed. It becomes even more obvious how good he is when he's off, they just get absolutely killed in their non Embiid minutes.

Sixers got absolutely zero from anybody else. Lowry is so far beyond washed. He still makes his tough, scrappy Lowry plays but like he's a minus shooter on wide open shots which is tough. Tobias plays hard and smart, he just doesn't do much to impact the game and is nearly invisible for huge stretches. If he was getting paid a fifth as much, it'd be fine, but he's not so it's not.

Knicks fans must be pretty happy, seems like a fun team to root for. They played 8 guys and they don't win that game without every one of those 8 players. Everybody is at least slightly above replacement, everybody contributes, everybody seems to know and embrace their role. Total team effort.

Few rows from front court for an EPIC playoff game is class. Kudos to you GBs

Funny, I turned off the Lakers nugs game at 1/2 time and was just discouraged. Turn to another channel and kind of forgot about it but figured **** it, Lakers CANT blow that lead with the easiness of which they were getting baskets..

Just disbelief this morning when I checked nba.com. I see they only scored 99 which was the most shocking thing of all. They had 59 at the half, and lebron hadn't even scored much. I knew Dlo's sun running had to end eventually but didn't think it mattered given Davis was literally scoring at will. Well I forgot he inexplicably vanishes offensively in 2nd half's if not for even an entire game. Unreal ****, go Murray!

I was convinced the Lakers were actually better than the Nuggets as I genuinely felt they'd give them a shot pre series and they've actually looked better than them most of the series. But damn the Nuggets just own them in the 4th quarter and in the NBA that's what really county. Can't just run out the clock. Still think Lakers take game 3 but I'm not confident about it anymore, nugs just have their number.

i liked lakers chances better last year, they had a little more versatility with vandy/schroder...Now they basically have 5.5 playable guys, also thought denver had more questions on D going into that series than I do now

and then the other and main reason I liked their chances more is it was nuggs 1st time on the big stage basically (sans 2020 bubble) and I thought experience could end up being an X factor

none of those variables are really in play now....not saying lakers cant get back in it but thought they had a better chance last yr (then denver basically just collectively made shots like they were a Dirk 2011 but in the team form and that was that)

Seriously. I didn't see that game but God damn that's a lot of mistakes in the Knicks favor in the final 2 minutes.

Homecourt don't mean **** eh? Eh? Idiots

I don't get the knicks hype, they basically have 1 guy who can dribble and josh hart isn't going to play like he's klay thompson shooting the ball forever

think Phi decent chance to comeback and win this series for a team down 0-2 if embiid is reasonably healthy

knicks do all the little things (transition, Oboards, bench minutes) better than Philly but Philly is clearly a better halfcourt offensive team

but as far as knicks being a potential foil to the celts? meh, they lost to the heat last yr so anything possible but don't really see it. Just looks like another Thibs try hard team to me.

I at once think the Lakers demonstrated all those things we were saying about how the game plan could be better and they could be more locked in, etc; but also it validated that Denver can just get what they need in the end.

Great game

Both MPJ shot and game winner were defensive breakdowns. You could argue the other Murray shot was variance

pretty wild that 39yo lebron was the only laker able to move faster than a slow jog in the last 5 minutes. no way they could cover anyone on defense, and their offensive sets were hilarious with three lakers huddling at the top of the key ostensibly setting triangle screens or something but really just gasping for oxygen.

hoping wolves can dominate again tonight but have a feeling kat will be a huge liability covering kd who goes for 40pts on 15 shots

There was a guy I just saw on tiktok that was breaking down all of the Lakers F-ups on defense. It was pretty impressive.

No worries, Josh Hart can play 48 minutes every night and they'll be fine. Really, better than fine.

It occurs to me KD is Theon Greyjoy. So desperate to be loved he betrays a great thing and ends up getting his dick cut off

And that’s why henceforth I will only refer to him as Reek

that was some 1st quarter

18 long rebounds landing in the hands of an unsuspecting oop small
26 turnovers
57 fouls
6 actual fouls

refs are the worst

I want to discuss challenges.

My thought process is you use one when you know you can get 2 points or take away 2 points. Simple as that as points matter more than possessions.

I dunno about holding them until the last few minutes. Seems like a lot of coaches do that just to get overruled thus wasting it.

in q1 gobert made an and-1 but got called for a charge. finch challenged and got it reversed. the tnt announcer (i refuse to learn his name) still maintained after the fact that it was a bad challenge... "too risky this early"
