Yes, and upset the soft Celtics in the 1st round.

oh my ****ing god.

the jazz are so damn great at the act of stripping the ball. Way better than Dallas in my opinion. They must have a 95% "all ball rate". The Mavs are around 12%. Really need to improve on this imo. Also, got to fall down better guys. I saw a few times where the Mavs drove to the basket and they didn't even fall down and scream. Also, lol at Dirk. He actually thinks being physical with Andrei Kirilenko is a good idea. When you are playing someone who is clearly way better than you and has had much more success than you, you can't expect to get a call.

I actually thought my favorite play was where Josh Howard scored and the ball came back to him so he rolled it on the ground towards the jazz guy and ran the other way. I guess he didn't roll it at a brisk enough pace because he got called for delay of game.

Not very often. I had it at BOS-12, take off about 1.5pts for b2b adjustment and it's -10.5, which agreed with the books. This loss was pretty clearly due to the b2b. Good times nonetheless, though!

Golden State? Really?
Kendrick Perkins didn't play due to his shoulder injury in the Lakers game which might explain why I was so disapointed with his help defense in that game, so that's why we lost ldo

Also want to point out I was one of the only people saying Mayo > Love in the NBA draft thread and that I said Mayo had the potential to play very good D as well

I swear that if the Celtics had won last night, i was going to call a let down game today. But I thought the loss from last night would negate it.

Yeah I'll do a Denver/Houston last longer. How do you feel about these stipulations:

-If both miss the playoffs, we go by best record

-Obviously if one makes the playoffs and the other doesn't or if one gets to a further round in the playoffs then that gives us a clear winner

-If they are eliminated in the same round of the playoffs then we go by whichever team won more games in that round of the playoffs.

-If they are both eliminated in the same round and its not the first round and they have the same number of wins in that playoff round, then we go by how many playoff losses they have before that round(obviously fewest losses wins).

-If they either tie using the previously stated method or if they are both eliminated in the first round and have the same number of playoff wins, then we go by who had more regular season wins.

I think the above are pretty fair rules that will give us a winner 99.99% of the time. And if you want, I'd be willing to include a clause that if they meet in the playoffs then the bet is automatically doubled.

Let me know what you think about these rules and how much you'd be interested in betting.

I'd like to use escrow. I'd feel comfortable with any of the regs here holding the money. If I had to choose I'd say take your pick of kbfc or Bobbo.

also did anyone else that JJ barea is 5'10" so when he is hit in the side it is because he is 5'10" and he missed the layup not because he was fouled but because he was 5'10"?

Just on the issue of overreacting to one game:

the 95-96 Chicago Bulls lost by 32 points in a regular season game against the good but not great NY Knicks. They also lost a close game to a 21-61 Toronto team.

On a somewhat cool note though, they only lost twice at home...both by 1 point.

I mean I don't recall that thread, but I hardly think this is all that gutsy of a call. And Mayo's D was praised in nearly every scouting report I read.

But I will say that I was dead wrong about Mayo(although I've been dead right about him since I quickly changed my mind very early in the season), so I guess I have to give you some props here for having a better forecast than me.

and btw, I still think hes tremendously underrated right now. Hes going to be an absolute stud imo.

Right cause the Cavs are similar to the 95-96 Bulls.

well the majority of the 2+2ers in the thread were saying Love > Mayo and I was only one of the few who thought otherwise, I wouldn't call it gutsy or anything but def was in the vast minority on here. Also many of them were ragging on Mayos defense as well.

Please tell me your reading comprehension really isn't that bad. I honestly can't tell if you are leveling or not, but I'll spell it out for you:

-You made a post which inferred that you could tell something signiciant from one regular season game.

-I pointed out that the best team of our generation had two horrendous losses

-Obviously this implies that if the best team of our generation can have awful losses, then its wrong to think that we can tell anything about a team from one single game.

fair enough...I don't remember the thread, so I won't argue. Good call then. I'm trying to figure out where I'd place Mayo among current NBA assets(in other words where would he go in a redraft of all current NBA players fully taking into account age and potential but not considering current salary)...I'm not sure just yet, but I'd be willing to bet that I think hes much higher right now than most.

Holy crap the Nugs won? When I last checked they were getting their butts handed to them. Sweet win sans Melo. Hopefully they can rest him a few games so he can get his stroke back.

Whatever, they also won a ton of close games by 6 or less.

Close for the 6-8 spots. Raptors still 2 games back I think despite having one of the worst schedules in the league.

Bos, Clev, Orlando, gap, Detroit, Atlanta, gap...then the rest of the teams who I'm sorry to say have no chance of making it out of the first round. It'll be close, but it won't be as exciting as the West due to talent. It looks like the Heat will take the 6th spot so 7-8 is where the action is.
