Obviously, and the Lakers would have swept the C's with Bynum/Ariza in the finals last year.

Can't remember what off the top of my head but if it was non shooting maybe it was a free throw annd the ball out of bounds, and on a shooting foul maybe it was a point and two free throws.

Of course I don't advocate allowing unlimited fouls with no additional penalty. But the players should be allowed to continue playing, with additional penalty for every foul over six. Not just so people can see a team finish with their best players on the floor but, as Phil Jackson says, it could only lead to better reffing. Hell, Wilt may have even gotten a sixth foul if they had this rule in place.
I'm totally on board with this idea. I think maybe two shots and the ball for all fouls after 6th would be a good deterrent. One additional advantage to this is that it would take off some of the pressure that the NBA is feeling right now about the reffing quality. It truly is beyond me why the league would not want to make a rule change that would have the effect of keeping the best players on the court longer.

From a heartbreak perspective, I guess it's better to get blown out than lose a close game 6 or 7, but man this sucks. To play a team that close, have a + PD for the series, and then to just get blown out like that.. I know the Lakers played very well, but the Nuggets looked awful out there.

Still, it was a great season especially considering where they were expected to finish when predictions went out in November. The good news is that the Nugs are in a great position to reload with 13 million in trade exceptions and a decent-sized expiring in Steven Hunter. Hopefully Kroenke sees that this team is close and breaks the bank to keep Birdman and get another big.

As far as Karl is concerned, he's not a great coach but I don't see many other options at this point.
did they have to let go of McDyess?

I think it was part of the deal. Or did you mean that in a different way?

I think they could use a BIG next year. Not a 6'9" forward or center, but a guy who can rebound. There have been rumblings of giving up the exception + LK or Balkman + picks to try and get Shaq... which would be awesome imo.

one shot + whatever would have happened normally (2 shots or ball out of bounds) is fine, that's how it is at the moment if you foul out too many players til you have less than 5 left

Some reporter keeps calling Gasol "Paul". I'm continually impressed how dense those guys are.

nm I'm dumb, must have been part of the deal to cut him loose after the trade went through

I mean, ideally Shaq would only be traded for a starting quality big who can defend, rebound and run the floor, but I've already heard rumors with Chicago for Deng+ another. As the Suns are currently set up they may as well try to contend one more year before they blow things up. But if they do blow it up, the exception plus whoever is probably enough to get it done.

EDIT: btw blowing it up has an even great chance because Nash supposedly wants more money, if he goes, the whole team probably does, even Amare since he's been talking about playing for other teams for a while now and he has the option in a year

Yeah it depends on whether they want to take on a contract of Deng's size, or if they want to blow the team up. I say they should just keep everything together and try to make a run for it. They are a strong playoff team with a healthy Shaq + Amare, and who knows how they'd do without Porter for a whole season? They went through a ton of turmoil and managed to almost make it...

LOL Melo's presser as he sits down: "Ohhhh sh*t"

Huh, I didn't know that rule. So you don't play 4 on 5, Hickory High style? Interesting.

this sucks. la has to go ringless despite league riggage.
05-30-2009 , 01:25 AM
Phil Jackson is 43-0 when winning game 1 of a playoff series.

Go on and marinate on that for a minute.

decade? kobe probably has 2-3 years at most as a superstar. he could still play and be good after that but they probably won't be contenders if he is their best player

like i said, they probably won't be contenders. . .

i'm not trying to hate on bynum, he's just unlikely to reach the level where he can be the best player on a contender

I think I'm going to be very glad I chose not to read the ingame thread for the 2nd half.
