Hey now, he led the NBA in 3pt% in 83-84. Sure it was only a .361 clip, but the way shooting's improved, by today's standards, that's like... .550 or something.

Yes theres a chance, but its incredibly low imo. Young came into the league as a big "potential" and "upside" guy and had a very very good season as a 19 year old. Barring injury, I can't fathom why he wouldn't improve when all the signs point towards him doing so including him tearing up the summer league yesterday as I cheered him on!

Funny.

Seriously though, Felton is a young solid player who looks to be a solid starting pg for years to come, your telling me this pick is worse than Young, Noah, or Brewer. All young guys who could have potential, but might not when its all over.

Plus I have one of the best point fowards ever to play the game on my team able to pick up time and run the team if need be.

Oh, I don't think that'll happen, either. It's very possible, though, especially if, as long as we're hypothesizing, the Sixers win the title this year and Young hits the banquet / championship celebration circuit, stops working hard on his game, gets fat and lazy, finally after a few years starts working on his game again but never achieves his full potential, etc. Obviously it's a small chance in any case, but still a chance.

And even if he does continue to improve, no one has that much idea how much he'll improve, or how consistent he'll be, or how long his career will be. (Of course, you can say the same about Brewer, but at least with two seasons of data you can look at trends and make some more educated extrapolations.)

Not who I'm thinking of. I thought my guy's career ended due to a single injury after 24, but turns out it was recurring before then, but you'd never know it from looking at his stats/games played. Bah.

this might be a good team strategy. Less broads banged by magic = lower % chance that he attains the HIV virus = longer career.

Pick is secretly brilliant.

Felton is a very good passer, just not good at much else. There are other players like this still available. As a UNC fan I like him but his FG% and TS% are terrible.

Yea - Im definitely with you on that one...but I must ask Nicholas one thing...

Nicholas - I dont understand what you meant by extrapolating Marvins first 2 seasons, I mean - what does extrapolate even mean?....then you break each season down in a very meticulous fashion - while putting wayyy to much emphasis on TS% and not enough on Usage. I dont get it Nicholas. Your word usage is mind boggling...but just doesnt hold any truth percentage to it. imo.

Explain please.

in the case that it gets to me: i'm away from my computer (and my list) and the 3 guys i wanted here (micheal williams, dunkenstein, skiles) have been taken so i need to get home and look at my list. pick up when i wake up tomorrow (tuesday). if someone can offer a fair trade i'll accept it in order to speed up the draft (seeing as it's hit a fast streak as of late)

I wish there were a reasonable way to prop bet this.

Also, I just realized Shark Doctor's writeup begins "The Brick adds character..." directly below a picture of him apparently shoving another player in the face

BTW, Xorbie and I have a $500 prop bet which we made at Summer League. More wins on the season:

I have Golden State
He has Minnesota

Holy crap, I remember seeing Jamario Moon back when he was still playing for the Patroons down at the Washington Avenue Armory. I have no clue if it's a good pick, but it brings some good local memories.

Jamario was my 2nd choice behind T Young when I picked him. Solid choice. Low upside obviously due to age, but otherwise a pretty damn good player imo.

I'm guessing there's like a 5% chance that the season o/u line has more wins for Minny than GSW when it's posted later this year.

Minny still has horrid guardplay and is paper thin. GSW lost some depth, but seems poised to replace it, and trades Baron for Maggette, which isn't great but its not the end of the world either. It's certainly not enough to make me think that last seasons huge disparity in wins between the two is suddenly going to evaporate.
