Yes. Would straighten him out like he did with Josh Howard.

I think you need to break it out in more detail, as there are 2pt shots (layups and dunks) that are offensive goldmines, and 2pt shots (jumpers) that are last-resorts. I'd be much more interested in seeing the ratio of those than just comparing %s across eras.

But it's worked so well for them....

Re:Nance

A couple of things I wanted to add/take away from Clark's description of Larry Nance.

One of his great abilities which would translate into today's games was his ballhandling skills for a big man. He was one of the few guys of that stature that could run the break, and could take guys off the dribble in the half court. I do feel that Clark is overrating his inside game, however. LN wasn't a post-up player, and got most of his points off cuts and his sheer athleticism. This is actually better for Clark's team, because they don't need another dominant guy down low with Ewing.

I also think he should have been a first rounder, because he did the two things that I feel are most important in this draft, defend and score efficiently. He did these better than many that were picked in the first round.

I have debated moving up to take the guy I mentioned via PM, but it just seems that there will still be a lot of value 20 picks down the road.

To play devils advocate how is this any better than saying "That one sg would work well with this guy". Now if I have some pick in mind I am looking over everything again to see the obvious pick I must have missed.

Because one statement gives an obvious hint(SG) while the other is completely ambiguous.

The talks are pretty meaningless. For example when Bobbo and I were both trying to move up to get Deron Williams he PMed me and asked me if thats who I was targetting. I told him 'yes.' If anything us exchanging that info hurt our own chances of getting him since we were giving our strategy away to someone else who was trying to outbid us to move up. Basically my only concern is that we get a ton of original thought and don't follow the herd with all of our selections. I don't think this stops us from accomplishing that. I do think discussing players that may soon be drafted in the thread does though. But no big deal....if enough people want to make a rule that no private discussion is allowed(honor system) then I'll agree with it.

It's not ambiguous at all and can change the mindset of a drafter.

As I pointed out.. I could have thought xxx was a good pick, albeit somewhat of a reach. Now you made your post and I need to search for yyy because it seems like an obvious pick and I don't want to look dumb or whatever.

My point is it should be black and white and not grey.

OMG HOW IS THAT ONE GUY STILL AVAILABLE and PM's about specific players is no better than "there is that one sf I really wanted but I decided to take xxx instead".

But I'm not a part of this so feel free to ignore me.. just something that didn't seem right.

just noticed that the spreadsheet had me down for having 13 picks (had double picks in the 6th, 7th, and 10th rounds). edited and put in EPiPeN11's name for those picks.

also for those wondering what's going on:

So he'll probably pick today (and hopefully soon because he logged on about 30 mins ago) and if not, then we'll figure out what to do.

Yup. That's one of the things I've hated about Dallas as a Spurs fan. That offense is ugly as sin, but when the shooters are on, they can beat anybody in the league, and it's especially effective against SA. When it's not, though, well, I think it's pretty clear what happens in that case.....
