Womens MMA sucks big time, but you can't say that out loud right?

New contender for worst scorecard of the year: Sal D'Amato gave round 4 of Vettori vs. Cannonier to Marvin.

Jenkins over Emmers has to be one of the worst judging decisions I've ever seen.

It's getting really hard to watch/bet on UFC.

Whenever you say Sal D'Amato and Chris Lee you know something very odd might happen next.

Another really good fight at women's 125 even though I have no idea what Ribas does in that weight class. Should be able to make 115 easily? Barber probably had 10+ pounds on her today?

Volkanovski vs Topuria would be awesome

It would be but I don't think it's realistic right now unless Volk loses to Yair and doesn't want an immediate rematch.

Basically every fight against a top contender would be fireworks. Holloway, Yair (if he loses to Volk) but I think most like is T-City.

Not to hate on Josh Emmett but the only reason why he even got into the position to get outclassed by Yair and Topuria is a split decision win over Calvin Kattar that (surprise, surprise) Chris Lee and Sal D'Amato scored for him but 14 out of 19 media outlets for Kattar.

Thoughts on the (unofficial) Michael Chandler vs Conor??? Line is respectively 2.07x vs 1.76x right now.

I expect the UFC to announce a fight for Michael Chandler shortly after the conclusion of TUF in mid August. Either at UFC 295 in New York in November or UFC 296 in Vegas in December. Highly doubt it's against McGregor though.

Ok, but what do you think about the line though? 2.07x-1.76x for Chandler and McGregor respectively. It is obviously an unconfirmed match, but I did place a hefty sum of money on it and am curious of your view on it (specifically you madlex, as your posting itt has been solid ).

Price on Chandler looks a little better than odds I've seen in the past that had exactly at +100 = 2.00 with McGregor at -120 because he runs the show. Otherwise it probably would be pick'em?

If they really announce that fight I'd expect a small shift in odds just based on the timeline. Obviously super hard to tell just based on pictures but it doesn't look like Chandler has given up on 155. If they pulled the USADA exempt card and announced the fight only 2-3 months out for the November or December card that might benefit McGregor because he bulked up (aka roided) over 2 years.

For me the only way to even form an educated guess is basing it on Dustin Poirier as a common opponent. For McGregor those are his only 2 fights (a total of 2.5 rounds) over the last almost 7 years outside the one where Khabib dominated him and that Cowboy joke. Chandler had 5 fights since he entered the UFC. Based on that we know he's better than Dan Hooker, beat a washed up Ferguson and had highly entertaining fights against Olivera (where he won round 1, got subbed in round 2), Gaethje (where both just fought stupid) and the one against Poirier where he gassed in round 3 after winning round 2 and I think a decent amount of people also had him win round 1? That was the only time in the UFC where he even utilized his wrestling background.

FWIW it's pretty obvious when they wanted to do that fight. Canelo has to move to September 30th because the UFC rented T-Mobile Center for September 16th (Mexican Independence Day weekend) a couple months ago. I highly doubt their initial plan was to have Grasso vs. Shevchenko headline a fight night there on that date..

Nice to see Menifield get this one against Crute after being robbed in their last fight.

How was he robbed? If anything he robbed himself. IIRC the point deduction for grabbing the fence to prevent a takedown was a pretty obvious one.

First fight was a banger, this one not so much unfortunately.

WMMA was done in less than 20 seconds for this card. Must be one of the fastest wins ever for a +285 or bigger underdog?

I just thought he was clearly the better fighter in the first (and second) fight, but if that point deduction was legit, so be it.

He was the better fighter in rounds 1 and 2 of the first one. Badly gassed in round 3 and got dominated there. Looked it up at mma decisions, 17 out of 20 media members scored it 28-28. 3 (and one judge) had it 29-27 Crute, presumably having him win round 2.

So easy to sell the Izzy vs dricus du plessis fight, will be fun. Izzy clearly has the speed and quickness but Dricus has the size and strength advantage.

hasn't Izzy basically schooled guys like du plesis his entire career? meh

he was +270 vs Whittaker for a reason

Du Plesis has defeated Whittaker and Till back to back, he looks slow and awkward but his technique is good on the feet and when he lands he hurts you + if he gets on top of you on the ground you're not getting up. Izzy can definitely lose, the build up alone will be fun.

Two fights ago he got knocked out by a huge MW. Two years ago he got dominated by a LHW when he didn't manage to ever get off his back.

He's obviously still going to be a sizeable favorite in that fight.

Hilarious that he wasn't even able to remember his lines. Or maybe he does have 26 pairs of chromosomes, that would explain a lot.

125lb division needs to go, these guys are too small and have no power and for 5'7 guys you can't tell me you can't weigh more than 125lbs, pretty pathetic tbh.

They cut weight to make that weight limit. They probably weigh around 145-150lbs ripped and low body fat when they aren't weighing in.

I have plenty of 200lbs+ buddies who are fat and out of shape and think those lbs are all muscle, so I know where you are coming from.

I'm also 25lbs heavier than a few years ago myself. Do you think I looked way better at the beach with that weight or without it?
