i think ppl have talked about it, but it'd require GSP moving up in weight and prob getting worked. then he hurt his knee. i mean, i think it's something he's considered, but he might also be waiting for as long as he can so that he might have a better chance of winning. think i saw him talk about if he moved up for that fight he'd take the time (like ~1 year) to put the weight on properly so he'd have a good shot at it.

Silva's 37 now? yeah it should prob happen before he retires just bc of the money it'd make...

It's also the kind of fight that would give them both a huge payday but would potentially derail both of their careers. I could see it happening in 3 years when Silva is in Tito mode and GSP is looking for his last big payday, but in their primes I don't think they have much to gain from it.

I feel as if the true line on their fights is about Anderson 55%/Chael 45%. Kinda sucks that Chael's slip is what ended up costing him- was shaping up to be an epic fight before that with Chael dominating the 1st round but Anderson looking a ton better at stuffing the TD in the 2nd round.
no idea who Anderson will fight next, whoever it is it won't be that interesting, probably Bisping

Anderson Silva isn't going to lose his belt to any fighter, he's going to lose his belt to old age

Light Heavyweight division is even worse, it might be almost a decade before they find Jon Jones a fair fight

^^GSP walks around at 180 and cuts to 169, Silva walks around at 210 and cuts to 185.

And Silva is fairly skinny while GSP already has a lot of muscle on his frame.

GSP x Silva, Silva x JJ, thats two fights that will NEVER happen.

yeah, that's not accurate. Silva is a big MW (has fought several times as 205) and GSP is an average-ish WW (maybe a little big).

Plus, GSP has said that if he moves up he won't move back down. He'd want to do it right, take a year to add muscle. He thinks it kills the career to switch weight classes too much, like RJJ moving up to HW to win a belt, then having huge troubles when he tried to drop back down from HW. So he'd be there to stay, and that's a massive gamble from being the GOAT kingpin of your division to likely getting killed at MW and stuck there with your career in limbo.

Jon Jones is probably going to move up to HW in about 2 years. He's said this a couple times... he's already a massive LHW, but has tons of room to add muscle to his frame and probably will naturally add muscle as he gets older.

The UFC looks at that fight as diluting the brand somewhat as well. At least that argument has been made.

I cant find the links now but i have read that Jon Jones has already tried to move to HW but Dana has blocked the move wanting him to conquer the LHW division first.

there was never any time rocky fought anyone the same size as him. to be a real champion, u got to beat everyone! but seriously ufc is so boring now. silva and GSP killed two weight classes. sick of seeing the same challengers again and again. whats the point?

my guess is he wanted to stay grounded there because he doesn't enjoy getting kneed in the face.

The sheer amount of times Mike Goldberg and Joe Rogan use the word "history" in every single UFC presentation now is downright irritating.

Ya he really shined. Laid on his back for 5 straight minutes, then beat up a guy who fell on the floor on his own. What a stud, SILVA GOAT AINEC, VAMO BRASIL, AOAOAOAO

Think its pretty obvious Silva was to fired up to start the fight and over aggressive and Sonnen took advantage and took him down. In the 2nd round Sonnen couldnt take down silva.

I think people are overplaying Sonnen slipping and falling in the 2nd. He got desperate and put everything into a spinning elbow that Silva just ducked causing Sonnens momentum to take him to the ground. It wasnt like sonnen was just walking around the ring and lost his balance and fell.
