Vitor sort of though the list of guys he lost to is pretty elite

arlovski is a good call

Arlovski/Hunt never GOAT tho, neither ever really #1 at any point in their careers. Coleman was legit the baddest man on the planet at one point. When he was 6-0 he was the literal GOAT of MMA to that point. Then lost four in a row (to be fair at least one was probably a worked fight). Then came back and reclaimed the title of baddest man on the planet and #1 heavyweight/openweight fighter, and returned to being the GOAT, briefly.

I guess i'm being picky about literal use of the phrase GOAT. Arlovski/Hunt obv fit the basic pattern.

And Mark Hunt lost to Sean McCorkle before he began his ascent and first fight back in the UFC.

UFC also never wanted him but was forced to honor his contract after the PRIDE purchase, they tried to buy him out of the contract and he refused wanting to fight.

Look at the closing line of his subsequent fights

Here was how big a fave his opponent was (listing the site they were smallest fave too)

Chris Tuchscherer -255
Ben Rothwell -355
Cheick Kongo -260
Stefan Struve -195

Won 'em all. That's gotta be a near record to be that big of a dog in each leg of a 4 win streak.

I'm also ignorant to most that PRIDE history still so I thought you were using GOAT more liberally on his comeback.

I mainly watch a fight here or there and try not to know the result beforehand - it's pretty fun. I was on a Sergei Kharitonov rally last night coincidentally. Had no idea who was going to win his fight vs Alexander Emelianenko.

Gates seems too big of a dog

Any opinions on the next fight? They're 125's so I don't expect Chilly to chime in
