De Guzman has looked a bit better since I told him he was terrible.

I should maybe do that more often.

And yes, Motagua has had a couple lolmisses but TFC probably should've won 3-0 at home so, you know, ball don't lie.

Come on Toronto, tighten up that backline. Don't give one up.

Amado is sticking it up Preki's ass right now. TFC looks ready to buckle and give up the 3rd goal here, some great chances squandered already for Mot.

Do you guys think the JPA + Henry combo will average > 1.25 goal per game? They're going to be ridic dominant if they're putting up the numbers.

CHAD BARRETT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Somehow continues with the scoring touch that eluded him for, well, his entire career up to this point.

Either way, we'll take it.

MLSE must be licking their chops right now. That's going to be 3 more home gates at like $750,000 each minimum. Who knows maybe they'll jack the prices right up for Cruz Azul.

At first I thought it was weird that TFC and RSL were in the same group, but then I realized that for purposes of this tournament, TFC isn't an MLS club, they're a Canadian club.

I wonder if this will give MLSE the impetus to buy a 3rd DP slot during the transfer window.

Good for you guys, everyone there deserves it. Now pack a stadium and make it hell for the teams visiting.

Group A looks like a pretty solid pick for Group of Death in this thing. RSL and TFC from MLS, Cruz Azul as a qualifier and Arabe Unido who ain't no joke. Could see a lot of different combinations coming out of that group.

Contrast that to the Charmin soft Group B: Columbus Crew (< RSL), Municipal (< Arabe Unido), Santos Laguna (< Cruz Azul), and Joe Public/Brujas (< TFC).

Who would you target if you could get anybody within reason?

Also lol @ Mo Johnston screaming on the sideline and hugging the assistant coach.

^ I don't think many TFC fans will bitch too much if we don't get out of the group. RSL is better than us and Cruz Azul is massive. Arabe also solid.

I guess getting 3 more CCL games and then making the MLS playoffs would label this a good year ...... although I'm getting serious penis envy when I look at the type of roster NYRB has and LA could have.

I think Mo is screaming cause this should ensure he keeps his job. We all know MLSE cares about the bottom line and this guy is going to sell the fact that he secured 3 more home gates this year.

As for a DP I really have no idea ..... you never really know who is actually available and would want to come, and there's no use getting all starry eyed hoping for a Del Piero type signing. I would like us to copy what Seattle has done and go get a guy in his early 20's from South America though.

Where would you want someone on the field though?

My initial bent would be a wing mid but central defense wouldn't be a bad choice either. The outside backs haven't been special by any means, but unless you can get a guy who can really get up into the attack I don't think anyone in MLS should be wasting a DP there. I hesitate to even get a central defender, but TFC clearly needs someone on that backline to step up as the leader.

As for outside mids, there are plenty of serviceable players on the roster but adding another creative influence in that midfield would really take the pressure of De Ro.

I thought about striker too, but I really like what Maicon has shown in his limited appearances.

Maicon has been very solid and they have Mista apparently is our 2nd DP on $100,000 a month even though he never plays

If we get anyone it would have to be a winger although I wonder if that's even a priority b/c we could play Barrett there even ...... a lot of ppl hate on Barrett but he has 8 goals now this year in all comps and his workrate is huge. For an MLS player at his salary he's a good guy to have.

The easy answer is to upgrade our strikers but how the hell do you figure out who to bring in from some mid level league, with confidence knowing they'll be able to light up MLS. I don't believe in using a DP slot on a defender but our centrebacks are very shaky, especially if we play Nick Garcia

Seattle rolling out close to as good a squad as they can field. I love teams that take this competition seriously.

Hmm, FSC seems to have delayed their coverage by about 6-8 minutes after the first game. Just saw the goal.

Hopefully they sync it up at halftime, otherwise I'll have to abandon this thread.

yeah that sucks, I do not think we've adjusted properly to the field/rain. Seems like ew are leaving some balls short, but now we are putting the ball more in the air to avoid this.

I slept through the TFC game zzzzz.
