Oh hey there, Thierry

Watched the RSL/HOU and NYRB/SEA games this week. RSL looked really good, as usual. They remind me a lot of the good Columbus teams of the past few years. They knock the ball around well and just seem to have the right kind of players slotted in to the perfect roles.
Jason Kreis has been very impressive as a coach after some early struggles, certainly due to his 12 seasons as a player in MLS. I'm hopeful that with more ex-players like Preki and Kreis who understand the American game becoming coaches that we'll really see the level of play pick up. I know it's silly early to say something like this, but I could easily see Kreis being a national team assistant in a couple cycles.
Houston is obviously hurting from the losses of Holden and Clark. Davis is obviously a class player in MLS and Corey Ashe, Richard Mulrooney, and Brian Mullan are solid enough. It's just that losing two USMNT players is going to kill a team that counted on its midfield play to create goals due to lack of a creative striker (sorry Ching).
As for NY/SEA, stak summed it up pretty nicely. I was impressed with the fire that Montero came in with. Sigi pulling him early last game and sitting him to start this one obviously lit a fire under his ass. I'm never really sure how a young player is going to respond to some form of discipline like that so it was nice to see him bounce back so strongly.
Was kinda upset that I didn't catch the LA/TFC game but when I saw the score (I'm terrible about not peaking at scores even though I'll want to watch the game on replay later) it just wasn't worth investing 2 hours in a 0-0 game. From the highlights it looked like LA had the better of the possession and chances. The couple match reports I read said that TFC finally looked like a Preki-coached team; playing physical defense, frustrating the other team, etc. Obviously if O'Brien White had played TFC would've score 11 goals and run away with the match.
