crew vs rsl tonight on fsc in the ccl

Remember that CONCACAF puts out free streams of most CCL games on their main site.

I hope someone at least considered letting them play this game on a Saturday afternoon.

some young American soccer players go to the Old Firm game - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tpwdYZsAFVA

so BC, do you support the Crew in any way, shape, or form?
02-22-2011 , 11:04 PM
I want my money back.

No goals, 3 red cards and RSL didn't even put a shot on goal.

MLS needs to get their **** together for travelling support. I know Don "NFL" Garber has nightmares at night about hooligans but lets get ****ing serious.

TFC allotment at Vancouver is 250 tickets. jopke.

Portland/Vancouver had to bitch and beg and write letters for Seattle to bump up the allotment for those games to 500.

Ppl are going to go to the games ..... it'd be better to have all of the away fans in their own zone rather than scattered.

Rumours are that next year when Montreal comes in their 1st game vs TFC will be in the Olympic Stadium .... TFC will easily be able to take on 2500+ seats if it's on a weekend. Probably closer to 5000 if marketed properly.
02-23-2011 , 01:30 AM
Seattle are a bunch of Pussies. They should open up parts of Qwest for Portland and Vancouver fans. Not just 500 seats, like a fat section of 2-3k if needed. Seattle already sells out the lower bowl anyway. Add some security and open up some concessions in one part of the stadium ffs. MLS should push hard for this too, because this is easily MLS' best opportunity to foster some crazy atmosphere.

MP, agree. Vancouver should open up more seats (and vice versa when games are at Toronto). This is too good an opportunity to pass up.

:L><L: see how it goes this year, I agree with you TSC.

I just want to say now, thanks for the 6 points this year! Much appreciated.

I didn't renew my season tickets this year, just too expensive, and I dont have any friends who are die hard soccer fans, so I was always having trouble getting someone to come wtih me on my second ticket

I hope to get out to a few selected home games, and a couple US Open Cup games at starfire.

Will definately watch all teh games either at home, or at the Three Lions Pub in Redmond.

tbh I am going to try and get to a few Sounders games this year since I am now in Seattle. Gonna need to get down to Portland for a game or two as well.

In PTFC news, peep the renovation pics: http://www.droppingtimber.com/2011/0...2-23-2011.html

The East stand looks a lot more impressive than I expected it to be. Looks great.

I really need to do up a status report on the new TFC management group which consists of Ajax guys just so I'm not always bitching ITT.

But that will have to wait for I have more MLS idiocy to report on.

New playoff format:

Seriously **** off already. There is no need to expand the number of playoff teams. And it looks like we still have the chance for crossover teams. Can't wait for the Western Conf final consisting of WC A and WC meeting ie. Toronto vs Columbus

die die die.
02-24-2011 , 12:00 AM
And I'm far from a "SINGLE TABLE OR ELSE IT'S NOT FOOTBALL" eurosnob.

I'm cool with playoffs. But at least keep it restricted and reward the top teams.

Something like in each conf:

3 @ 2 1 game

3/2 vs 1 2 game tie with 2nd game @ #1 seed.

6 out of 18 teams for playoffs is reasonable. Giving a bye and last game in a 2 game tie is a reward and an advantage.

Yeah it really is looking great. Can't wait to see it completely finished. They only got a few weeks left!

I mean yeah, its obviously terrible. MLS still doesn't realize that most of its fans follow Euro soccer and are more accustomed to NO playoffs. Yet they respond my expanding them. Its obviously a PR ploy to get casual fans more interested (HEY YOUR LOCAL MLS TEAM JUST MADE THE PLAYOFFS).

I personally feel like if they are going to have playoffs, copy the old MLB format. Top two go for the conference championship, winners play in the Final. It at least makes the regular season incredibly meaningful. However, when there is no relegation, MLS has to do something to make more of the regular season meaningful, and expanding the playoffs is the only way.

It really sucks for us as fans, since we all want (I think) MLS to grow/succeed, but we also want to see the league more closely match the rest of the world. There really is no middle ground right now.
02-24-2011 , 12:17 AM
Big year for TFC, I sense that a lot of casual fans who were initially attracted to the original hooplah are quickly losing interest. TFC needs to stop sucking, seriously.

Looking forward to another year of DeRo, Frei and 9 other plugs. Time for De Guzman to put up or shut up and gtfo.

What was great last season, is their seemed to be a lot more "must win games" towards the end of hte season, and it made for a lot of great matches, expanding the playoffs delutes the regular season. I would have much rather seen it still 8 teams with 18 teams, then 10 out of 18.

anyone watching the games today on espn3? Definately using these games as a factor for not going to school 2night.
02-24-2011 , 07:46 PM
MLS website streaming some games tonight.

FC Dallas up 1-0 right now on Orlando City(USL team).

At 8pm it's TFC-Houston.
02-24-2011 , 07:56 PM
Shalrie Joseph and Kevin Alston sent home from Orlando by the Revolution. Joseph was arrested for "trespassing" in the stairwell of the team hotel. Basically, cops and management told him to go to his room at 330 AM, he said no, and they cuffed him. The whole thing seems stupid, but I'm already feeling down about this season.

+100 for the playoff format being terrible.

Alexei Lalas has said in the past that he thinks it's going to be up to the players to make total points (Supporters Shield) the biggest accomplishment in the game. I think the fans need to treat it this way as well, but probably not gonna happen in this country any time soon.

Dear god. I'm watching Toronto vs. Houston on espn 3.
This is sad.

It's pretty bad. Toronto is f***ing awful, it's difficult to watch. And they're winning, lol.
02-24-2011 , 10:58 PM
Is the stadium always that empty?
