I'm fairly certain that because the US is a larger market than any European country that the best players in the world would want to play in the MLS. This is evident by the best player of all time Beckham coming to LA until he was too old to play in the MLS anymore and thus returning to Europe since no MLS teams were still interested in his services. By just watching I think anyone with any soccer knowledge would realize that the quality of MLS is far superior to anything Europe has to offer and it would only be competitive if you were to assemble some sort of all star team across different European leagues to play against a single MLS team.
