It sucks that MLB fixed a WildCard system that was just fine. Three division leaders and the next best team worked just fine.
Just look at the crappy #5 teams that the Yankees and Arizona are likely to have to face in a play-in game. Yankees have a +186 run differential. Minnesota is -3...... great....
I know, I know....its all about $$ and keeping teams in the chase, but blah....
I'm a big fan of the present system. I like that wildcards are at a disadvantage, I like sudden death and I like that I'm going to get to laugh my ass off when the Twins knock the Yanks out.
Raul Mondesi got sentenced to 8 years in jail for corruption in D.R. He stole $6mil over six years as a mayor there. Baseball Ref shows he made $66mil over his career. What a dickbird. Still remember that awesome cannon though.

Didn't his son get sent down to AAA about a month ago? Bad times for the Mondesi collective.

sudden death baseball is a major win. unforgettable moments such as the barves infield fly, zach britton staying in the bullpen, and greears trip to best buy
I'm all for sudden death if the Dbacks win. If they don't, I suppose I'll do a fair bit of whining about how unfair it is they have to play a win or go home game while teams with worse records don't. But that's probably standard operating procedure for a sports fan.
Greear is a huge Tigaz fan. Twins/Tigers played a sudden death playoff game to make the playoffs. Greear couldn't handle the pressure so he stopped watching and drove to Best Buy.
"It remains an ongoing discussion in the industry,"
Rob Manfred's statement on a 2 year old girl getting her face caved in by a foul ball and if the netting should be expanded down the lines.
He may turn out to be a bigger ******* than Selig.
He can't force stadiums to do it, but how about MLB paying for it and telling the teams to tell their season ticket holders to go **** themselves if they have a problem.
I'm guessing the idiot parents that brought a two-year old into that potentially dangerous space weren't supervising her appropriately.
No one, including those "idiot parents" are on full foul ball alert for 300 pitches. Outside of boxes, the most expensive seats in every stadium are seated behind a net.
I'll be in the minority with this take, but I'm completely fine with that...
Extending the nets to the foul poles or wherever is absurd. Baseball has been played for a very very long time, and the amount of serious injuries that have come from balls and bats going into the stands is extremely small. **** happens. It sucks the kid got smoked, but **** happens.
I'd be willing to bet more people get injured chasing homerun balls during BP than during games. I saw a dude get his nose shattered by a homerun ball not long ago. He had a glove on, and just flat out missed. Hit him square in the nose. Blood everywhere. Should we put netting around the outfield too? I've seen people get hit in the 2nd and 3rd levels. In the name of safety, should they be protected by nets too?
What about basketball games? People are sitting right on top of the court. Every game you see players flying into the stands while chasing a loose ball. That causes injuries to fans. Do they need netting too. When are nets going up at golf courses? Seems pretty regular that a PGA pro is smoking someone with an errant tee shot. Probably more often than someone getting hurt by a foul ball.
Having kids that go to 20+ games with me every year, I can understand how bad it sucks to carry your injured child out of the ballpark and to a hospital. But again, **** happens. There's no need to freak out and have this same discussion every time someone gets hurt. It's a stupid stat, but you're way more likely to get hurt in a car accident going to and from the game than actually at the game.
