How about lining up 1-2-3 starters so that the week starts on Friday?
It's not like I think any good idea would be feasible to implement, MLB has enough trouble enacting change as it is lol.
Used to be that I loved the stats and history in baseball. Now I like watching tourney baseball more now than before. It's better in the way that hockey is better during the olympics/playoffs. There is a lot of drama on every pitch when the stakes are correct.
It would be fun to see the season broken into 3 segments. Schedule balance can be picked. After the first third of the season give out points based on standing. Reset standing and play out the 2nd portion, assigning requisite points for team win% overall and from each half.
Allstar break.
Final period is a round robin style. The top teams all play each other for seeding in the final playoff. The bottom teams all play for x amount of lower seeded playoff spots.
-Regular season series could be formatted as best of 5 or full 5 games series etc
-Do some stuff to fix the roster situation so that pitch counts/saving bullets for the long haul is less of a concern in a more structured/win now schedule
-Teams would be forced to be constructed so that they don't get whacked in longer series and 3 tourney's a year instead of shrug giving up and getting lost in the slog of a 30 team 162 game season. Hypothetically.
