I like their rotation, they got guys who can pitch and if they get on heaters then theiy become dynamic(see lohse). If their offense can stay healthy and make consistent hits then I definitely think they are an 80+win team obv. There should be pressure on braun though, if he cant preform then that offense takes a hit

Happy Opening Day everyone! Today is the happiest day of the year.
please explain, Tex is still solid. Roberts and if they have Johnson on 3rd is still more than serviceable and Jeter isn't as bad as people make him out to be. McCann is also overlooked . its only bad if nunez gets a fair mount of starts

I like greear wishing death on the umps when his gold glove outfielder can't catch a routine fly ball and the ss can't handle a slow bouncer right at him

36 year old Brian Roberts' games played for the last 4 seasons:

2010 59
2011 39
2012 17
2013 77

Mark Teixeira played 15 games and 34yo in less than two weeks. Derek Jeter is Derek Jeter and turns 40 mid-season. Kelly Johnson is the baby of the group at 32yo. It's gonna be amaaaaazing.

wilson ramos is seriously terrible

yea I understand that they are all fragile players and they are old but Roberts and Kelly will be above average if they stay healthy . Can't fully bank on them missing as many games as they have in the past imo, id be saddened.

Same can be said with their rotation, it can either be really good or a major disappointment all pending on injuries to a team that like what 3rd oldest in the majors? im optimistic it wont be as bad as last season

also still want to hear about what the rangers plan is going forward wrt pitching, like to have an inside take

not cliff lee's fault. he never gets run support - that is why his record is like 2-19 every year

I can give you Tex (as the injury last year wasn't age related) but beyond that this could potentially be one of the worst defensive infields assembled by any defensive metric...also Nunez didn't make the cut and got optioned, Yangervis Solarte did make the team, and Yanks are probably better off if only by the smallest of margins.
