The five game series are already incredibly biased against pitching depth. I like the idea of the round robin: more teams potentially competing generates wider interest nationwide in September when football is about to step on baseball's throat. It's not as if an 85-win team in a competitive division couldn't be better than the 90-win team in the less competitive division.

im all for adding another wild card and having both WCs play a 1 game playoff. this will help out the #1 seed a ton and be a good reward for being the best over 162 games.

if u guys really want less variance in baseball playoffs and the best teams making it to the WS more often, this helps that cause.

Talking about how football is stepping on baseballs throat why can't MLB schedule doubleheaders? It would shorten the seasons length of time, to where maybe instead of playoffs in October, playoffs would be in September. If they're willing to make a change in the playoffs and schedule why not do this?

So day-night doubleheaders make less money? I don't see how this could be. Scheduling doubleheaders on the weekend wouldn't make much money?

hahahahahahahahhaaaaa that Mauer commercial is awesome.

It's so awesome because it will infuriate twins fans because of the POS player he's become.

"When Joe Mauer brushes his teeth, it's to clean the toothbrush."

player's union doesn't like doubleheaders

there's rules about them in the CBA

its something that could prob get negotiated away if the owners cared

greear,

your mauer hate is a little unwarranted. he's 23rd in the league in WAR, 42nd in woba, and he's a stud defender behind the dish. plus he's not fragile. and he's cheap!

Spoiler:
looooooooooooool twins. the one time the twins actually make a large signing they manage to make the worst signing in baseball

So Greear just to confirm, you're not willing to bet that Verlander is a better pitcher than Price, is that correct?

Zito's problems are more injury related right? I can't hate on a team that much for signing a good dude who got hurt compared to something like the Howard contract.

WTF come on man. Zito wasn't even an elite pitcher when they signed him to that deal, and when you consider Oakland's defense and ridiculous home field, it was so bad.
