it's been 29 innings. you can't say the tigers pitchers are improving based on that sample and say the indians are going to regress at the same time. otherwise josh tomlin is going to be better than verlander and jeanmar gomez is actually good and not a AAAA player at best. come on man

Charles Furbush is gonna turn into Cliff Lee anyway...idk why I never bring him up in future tigers projections. k/9 force insane with that one.

it's more than that. also using the g10 eye test. ldo that's an awesome metric.

porcello's stuff seems to have more bite to it this season for sure. pretty sure his swings and misses are way up this year in general. def a good sign even if it's a small sample.

cmon bro putting max about verlander is ridic.

best pitcher in baseball is prob doc and then then it's pretty hard to pick from timmy/lee/verlander/cc/lester/felix. maybe weaver if he keeps it up a little longer. josh johnson is there on a rate basis but no way you can expect him to pitch as many innings as the rest.

scherzer is v good and ricky is a pretty good deal given his salary and all but you should stop taking verlander for granted imo.

the phillies are def better than the giants and braves are probably better and should be both be better next year too.

i would be pleased with the early returns of course, he is throwing his changeup significantly more, throwing more strikes (this was never a problem but it's nice to see), and indeed getting more swings and misses

again it's 29 innings though

ETA: how did i forget about the phillies' rotation whoops. braves probably in 2012 i guess but i would prefer the giants rotation currently

Scherzer is a much....smarter/brighter individual than Verlander. He did the video work all himself and figured out what he was doing wrong that led to his insane 2nd half.

in ST he was getting roughed around and figured out the same thing he did the previous year, something to do with his arm slot.

Combining what he did last years 2nd half with what hes done so far this year i dont think its crazy to think he could become better than JV. I know JV is really good, but Maximus Prime may be better. Time will tell.

And no I don't wanna bet on JV/Maximus, I can sense that one coming.

i may or may not know someone close to your mancrush and he is the one that is responsible for max's look into statistics and video (that i took of him no less)

so in some small way, you might or might not owe me for his development

oh yeah i guess they effectively got hudson and kennedy out of that trade. scherzer is prob the best of the 3 but hudson + kennedy has got to be better.

he hasn't even been better than verlander this year or any better than he's been in the past

Verlander basically has the best fastball and best curveball of all starters, his pure stuff is just better

didnt the dbacks gm say they traded scherzer because they thought he'd be better off as a reliever? lolol

ya im prolly just a little tilt biased with JV. it jus seems like he loses every game he starts vs teams random 4s/5s somehow.

not really, they were just worried about his health and his commitment to baseball i think. he didn't go deep into games which was a major problem. (he still has this problem obviously but it's not as bad)

dbacks GM at the time was smart. josh byrnes. now it's kevin towers who is a giant idiot. sabr people think he is great but no one who ****ing drafts matt bush #1 is smart. period. end of sentence

worried about his commitment to baseball? seems like he's by far the most commited on the tigers staff. was there something that happened?

I heard recently (just a story someone told me so I don't have a link) that Padres ownership forced Towers to take Bush. I have no idea how reliable that is.

Yeah, I want to see Jeter's for this season. Actually, I could probably draw it myself.
