Zomg, why won't the real details of the ****ing Halladay deal break already? I thought this was the internet, where we instantly get all details about everything.

From what I've heard, we tried to sign Lee to an extension but he wouldn't go for it. IF that's true, then there's pretty much no way I could completely hate the deal. Doc>Lee and Doc for 3 years >>> Lee for 1, so as long as they didn't completely rape and pillage the farm system (and everything I've heard has mentioned no more than one prospect), it seems ok to me.

As far as I've heard, Drabeck isn't involved which is comforting. I'm assuming it would be Taylor which I guess I'd be ok with. I just want to knoooooow.

theo has been a busy guy today for the sox. lackey deal appears to be just about done. we're going to be getting cameron. move ellsbury to left field. sign beltre. yessir, looking at an absolutely beast defensive infield and a very good run stopping outfield.

Give me one reason to watch the Jays next year. The only games I ever went to at the Dome were the games Doc started.

I think the only way I'll contemplate going to a game this summer is if I can smuggle eggs in and fire them at Wells in CF.

why wont the Cubs do anything worthwhile

every other GM spends their money and is active and spends it wisely .... and the Cubs ... well we throw millions at Milton Bradley and Alfonso Soriano

I wasn't aware that the world was ending in 2011.

Why won't somebody with accurate info publish who's in the 3 way trade? Now Drabek's in it and Aumont's back in, but he's going to Philly. Whoever get Aumonte I hope they give him another chance as a starter.

Lowe to the Angels for Juan Rivera seems to be the only thing floating around at the moment, per MLB Trade Rumors.

Looks like Rivera is signed for 2 more years at a total cost of just under $10 mil.

Any of you smarter people want to give a quick analysis of Rivera?

Yes. Definitely want to trade Lowe over Vazquez. May be difficult since Lowe has 3/45 left but they pretty much had an ideal day since the Angels now need a starter.

Last 2 years his WAR was 4.1 and 4.3 (bay was 2.9 and 3.4), fangraphs had his $ value at 18.5 and 19.4 mil.

I don't pretend to know what the market was for him, but he made 10m last year and had a great season. I don't think its a bad contract, but I'm a huge homer.

9:15pm: After going through several incarnations over the last 48 hours, the latest version of the deal has outfielder Michael Taylor, catching prospect Travis D'Arnaud, and a pitcher - either J.A. Happ or Kyle Drabek - going to Toronto, writes Stark in his latest update.

Under this scenario, the Phillies would get to hang on to Domonic Brown and would recieve Phillippe Aumont.
