Guess you missed where it said that he retired
12-09-2013 , 01:59 PM
Surprised that Halladay retired. Loved watching him.
12-09-2013 , 02:12 PM
sucks that halladay retired but sucks even more that that was the way he went out. total shame
12-09-2013 , 04:48 PM
Phillies are shopping Dominic Brown, I guess he is too young for them
12-09-2013 , 04:50 PM
Torre, Cox and LaRussa all elected to Hall of Fame.
12-09-2013 , 04:51 PM
Miller wasn't, so, you know, it's a total sham.
12-09-2013 , 04:54 PM
Halladay was old and washed up. He did the right thing
12-09-2013 , 04:54 PM
Phillies are going to be shopping a lot more than DBrown this year. Prolly going to try and dump Utley, Howard, Lee
12-09-2013 , 05:05 PM
they really missed their window for shopping howard. apparently the rangers were in the market for a fat 1b/dh with a terrible contract.
12-09-2013 , 05:09 PM
how much cash do they have to include to get rid of a negative war player owed 85 million
12-09-2013 , 05:18 PM
tbf he'd probably be worth at least 1 war or so if used in a platoon

Except the people who voted this time weren't sportswriters (for the most part), so there's no excuse.

Halladay HOFer?
12-09-2013 , 06:20 PM
Also, Tom Glavine is the most overrated pitcher of all time.

Discuss.

He's not even the most overrated on the ballot, that title belongs to Jack Morris.

He's nearly got a Koufax-like peak case. I suspect the writers may hold his longevity against him. I'd vote him in, but I'm obviously horribly biased.

Bill Plaschke actually said this to a national audience just now: "If Jack Morris doesn't get in, Halladay's not getting in." WAT

The funny part is Plaschke probably thinks Morris should get in because of what he did in the playoffs yet ignores Doc's no hitter.
12-09-2013 , 06:47 PM
keeping halladay out probably means voting in like 1 pitcher every 10-20 years from here on out
12-09-2013 , 06:47 PM
god that playoff no hitter was sick

Halladay's lack of rangz will hurt him with dumbass HOF voters.
