Didn't Burnett walk 9 guys in his no-hitter for Florida? Maybe Edwin will shoot for 10.

five away!

I need to buy tickets any time the Rays come to town. There's always a chance of a no-no or perfecto.
06-25-2010 , 09:33 PM
error heh
06-25-2010 , 09:33 PM
Clearly an error, but he's going to have to throw 150 friggin' pitches to do this.
06-25-2010 , 09:33 PM
rofl on that error
06-25-2010 , 09:35 PM
EGGOG

A 160 pitch no no would be epic

Has anyone been pulled (non-injury) from a no-hitter in recent memory? If he's at, say, 145 through 8, I don't think they can send him back out there, especially if it's 1-0. They should probably pull him now tbh.

caught stealing haha

lol quit being a pussy. an extra 30-40 pitches in 1 outing isnt gonna cause an injury. they can push his next start back a day or 2 but never in a million yrs do u pull him after 8.

Wikipedia has the full list of no-hitters; there are a fair number of combined no-nos.

The Oswalt one was because of injury, and Cordova went nine innings in his. It looks like 1991 was the last time someone was pulled out of a nine-inning no-hit bid.
06-25-2010 , 09:45 PM
the fact that it's 1-0 makes this much more compelling
06-25-2010 , 09:45 PM
I know Kent Merker got pulled in one after 6 that his team completed. Though he pitched a real one as well.
06-25-2010 , 09:45 PM
Could possibly be the worst no-hitter performance in MLB history.
06-25-2010 , 09:47 PM
The Worst? Well there was Burnett's, plus didnt Doc Ellis pitch one on an LSD trip and walk 7?

Yup, that's the one. Kent Mercker had just been put into the rotation and was only able to go 6 innings for the Braves against the Padres.
