Probably. I was just having a hard time distinguishing each stage of the Manny saga, separating rumor from confirmed fact.

So now, the Nationals have to pick a new leader, a new direction, and try to right a ship that is honestly quite damanged. Despite a new park, fans haven't responded by paying to watch a bad team, and the farm system isn't brimming with young talent ready to lead the team into the future. The roster is a mix of underachieving outfielders, overachieving outfielders, correctly achieving outfielders, a couple of backup outfielders, and some role player-type outfielders in camp on minor league contracts. There's also a couple of pitchers hanging around.

Idk, but I do know that as someone who put money on them to win the Division and WS, I realllly liked the signing

Hey guys,

Where do you guys go for your daily baseball reading? I get a decent amount in but I'm always looking for new sites, and I'm sure there are a lot of smaller good ones out there that I'm missing out on. Doesn't matter too much if it's analytical, comedy, team-specific, whatever. Just looking for good, quality stuff.

Post it all too, even if you think "oh that's so big I'm sure you already know Fangraphs or The Hardball Times or the awesomeness of Beyond the Box Score" there's a good chance I'm missing a huge site, i just learned about River Ave Blues last week after my Mariano post.

I'm not going to claim that all of these sites are great, but I look at least at the headlines on each of them pretty much every day.

Yankees blogs:
NY Times Bats Blog
Ken Davidoff's Baseball Insider
Mike Ashmore's Thunder Thoughts (Yankees Double-A team)
NoMaas (Yankees humor)
Replacement Level Yankees Weblog (best bet for an analytical, non-Yankees fan to enjoy out of this group)
River Ave. Blues
The Times-Tribune Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees Blog (Yankees Triple-A team)
The LoHud Yankees Blog (Best source for Yankees news, worst source for analysis)

General Baseball Stuff:
Baseball Musings
Baseball Prospectus
Baseball Think Factory
Beyond the Box Score
Driveline Mechanics
Fangraphs
Joe Posnanski's Blog (not strictly baseball, but the best sports writing anywhere, on the internet or in print)
Minor League Ball
MLB Trade Rumors
Results Disoriented
Sabernomics
Shysterball
Squawking Baseball
Baseball Analysts
The Hardball Times
Baseball Intellect
Inside The Book

Just a little tidbit from a Dave Cameron fangraphs article that I found interesting:

How can all the teams get away with not signing Bonds for the league minimum this year or last? Isn't this super obvious collusion? How isn't it a bigger news story? Is bonds really willing to play for minimum or is that just BS by his agent.

obv as i write this ESPN's ticker shows that his agent is getting the players union to investigate what happened last year.

I didn't plan on spraying it around me like The Exorcist, that is why I used the singular.

PS: It was Thai Coffee. Wish I had more.

I agree. I'm shocked that this hasn't been a big story. To me, it is obviously collusion. How can the Royals legitimately claim they are not interested in offering Bonds an invitation to Spring Training?

Bonds is smart to claim he will play for minimum. This will give his lawsuit more bite when he files it.

Where do we draw the line between MLB as a club, and as a business? I get that the "club" doesn't want him, but as businessmen, they are all failing miserably, and might get sued for it.

Athletics are gonna sign Nomar?

http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?...=.jsp&c_id=mlb

I heard $4Million on Sports talk, that seems pretty high. Still seems like a smart move considering how left handed and injury prone they are at the corner spots/DH.

Kind of sick how deep the Red Sox pitching is this year. Unfortunately the positional players are probably at their weakest since 2002.

Martinez has drawn at least moderate interest from a number of major league clubs, including the Dodgers, Pirates and Indians, though none of these teams has made a a firm offer. Come on Tribe, one time!!! No way both (or either) Reyes and Pavano stay healthy all year.

TBH, I'm more worried about them being effective than being healthy. I wouldn't mind signing Pedro, but I'm certainly not expecting a lot out of him this year, regardless of where he ends up.

So far Edwin Jackson and Justin Verlander have looked lights out in spring training. Especially Jackson. Hopefully he can get his control issues in order and have a good year for us. Rick Porcello actually has a decent shot to make the opening day roster with the D Train looking absolutly brutal once again. He'd have to beat out Nate "gas can" Robertson and Zack Minor for the last spot. Id give him ~35% chance.

Jeff Larish swung the bat well today with 2 bombs and another deep double. Man I sure would love seeing him at 3B this year instead of Brandon .218 Inge. Im cool with sacrificing a little D to get someone in whose actually gonna give us some pop and clear the .260 mark at the plate.

Really cant wait for the season to start! AL Central should be tight and a ton of fun all year long.

WTF ever happened to Dontrelle? He went from underrated to way overrated to "wtf? Is he still on a MLB roster? I guess we have to give him some sort of rating."
