The Yankees didn't need Judge to have a great record before the All-Star break and even Judge hitting like Barry Bonds on steroids isn't stopping the Yankees from having a massive collapse since the All-Star break.
I was being a bit facetious, but it really is remarkable how bad the Yankees are right now.
They managed to run good and beat the Rays 2-1 today. Judge went 3-5, homered (53rd) and scored both runs. Rest of the offense went 3-30. Just truly pathetic stuff.
List of Yankees who were good before the all-star break, and either injured or completely ineffective after:
Giancarlo Stanton (injury)
Luis Severino (injury)
Michael King (injury)
Matt Carpenter (injury)
Gleyber Torres (just sucks now)
DJ LeMahieu (playing with nagging injuries, ineffective)
Clay Holmes (injury and ineffectiveness)
Aaron Judge playing at prime-Bonds level is literally keeping the Yankees from droppping below 1st.
