Insane that the sox bring in a random reliever now with Bautista/Donaldson up. Should be Kimbrel

Too bad the yanks can't hit because 7/8/9 reliever combo is literally the GOAT.

Kimbrel threw just short of 40 pitches yesterday. Has to be unavailable.

Yeah I read that afterwards. Lol me. Still, should've been Koji imo (whoever the best available reliever is). Don't think they'd have brought in Kimbrel even if available.

Up 4-2 in the 7th. Lets see how it plays out.

For the last few innings I've been thinking "Man, I hope the Royals don't work Sale for a bunch of pitches but fail to take the lead to make me look bad."

Oh well, nothing new.

edit: obv they should have listened to me tho.

So even though they pulled Sale, do I still come out looking smart since they insta choked as soon as he went out?

My 7-year old has started getting more interested in baseball. We were having a random baseball conversation the other day and I told him about Rickey Henderson. Obviously I know how awesome he was - he played from when I was 3 to when I was 27, so I was fully aware of his greatness. When I showed my son his stats, though, it really hit me how ridiculous the guy was.

The stat that jumped out: he led the league with 66 stolen bases in 1998, when he was 39 YEARS OLD. That's just gross.

I just can't deal with this **** anymore.

1998 was Rickey's 4th A's stint. IIRC old man Canseco had a 30/30 season that year in Toronto.

Thinking about old baseball makes me happy. Thinking about the goddamn bullpen makes me very sad.

Think about it, essentially had them swept, but get swept instead. 6 game swing.

I hated the A's when I was a kid because they were in the same division as the Royals back then and they always won. Still was in awe of Henderson and Eckersly though.

The extra kick in the nuts is that half of KC's lineup is AAA guys right now. That's pretty rough.

The combined ERA for all Cubs starting pitchers this season is now 2.49. There are currently only 10 other individual qualified starters in the entire league with a better ERA. Basically it's like they've been throwing an above-average ace out there every single day for 2 months. Of course it helps that they've outperformed xFIP by nearly a run, but still pretty incredible.
