Cant believe people are arguing Ray Allen doesnt move A LOT to get open. Thats the only way he does get shots, cause hes too slow now to create his own shots. I think people just watch highlights or something..unreal

you rarely ever see ray allen take a shot where he is standing still. i would say he has to run as much as he does or he would never be open since no one would ever leave him on a double team b/c hes too good you cnt cheat off him.

Both of you are so wrong, it hurts. Allow me to use truth, statistics, and mathematics to prove that your thinking is incorrect.

As several posters have already mentioned, Allen tirelessly runs around the court through screens and double screens set by his teammates so he can get open. Allen is one of the best 3-point shooters to ever play the game of basketball, and, in my opinion, the best. Do you not think that opposing defenders want close in on him when he's getting ready to shoot? If so, then why would Allen stand around and make it easier for defenders to guard him? By using not only logic, but also observation of reality, it is obvious that Allen spends most of his time eluding defenders and creating space for his lethal shot. A great majority of this activity takes the form of Allen running all over the court and using screens to free himself.

Furthermore, Allen doesn't simply shoot 3's. As time has gone on, Allen has become a more efficient scorer, as evidenced by his FG% over the past two seasons, which represented 2 of the 3 best shooting seasons of Allen's entire career (48% and 47.7%, excellent for a guard). If you look at the numbers closely, you will see that last season, Allen shot under 36.3% from 3-PT distance. Not shabby for a 3-pt specialist, but yet one of the worst shooting percentages of Allen's entire career. However, despite shooting a near-career worst from 3, Allen managed to have his third best ever overall shooting season from the field. How is this so? Well, contrary to what both of you think, Allen took (and made) a high volume of layups and jumpshots from within the 3-point arc.

Ray Allen can't possibly be just "sitting there" if he is taking so many shots from both behind the 3-pt arc and inside the 3-pt arc. As such, Allen is much more than a 3-pt spot up shooter.

Allen averaged 12.2 shots per game last season, making 5.8 of his total shots per game. Subtracting his 3-pt attempts and makes, Allen shot roughly 55% from 2, which is very good for a guard. Not only that, but almost 60% of Allen's field goal attempts were 2-pt attempts. Both his conversion rate of 2-pointers, and the overall volume and ratio of 2-pt attempts compared to 3-pt attempts, both directly disprove your assertions that Allen is just a spot up 3-pt shooter and that he "does nothing but sit there all game."

can we talk about how the heat looked exactly like the cavs of the last few years?

lebron doing everything on offense mostly on isolations

z moving screens

wade=larry hughes

bosh=jamison bricking shot after shot and getting outhustled/muscled (coulda said gooden, but he actually could score and rebound when on his meds)

lebron getting a rest in the 4th of a close game to the chagrin of anyone watching.

I mentioned to someone else tonight that Wade looked a lot like a super efficient Iverson out there who had no clue how to play with good teammates.

ok, I think what I said was kinda taken out of context, obviously ray works hard to get the shots he does (even though alot of the time its just bad defense) but its just so annoying everytime he makes those dagger shots its always in the ****ing corner every****ingsingletime. Remember that game he had in the postseason vs the heat last year? hes a great player hes just annoying to play against.
