Huge Mavs and Dirk fan. Have been lurking around the Sporting forum and love the thoughts.

Would you do this trade, it fits espn's trade machine.

Dallas trades:
Kidd, Stackhouse, Howard

Dallas receives from Milwaukee:
Redd, Mo-Will, Bobby Simmons, Desmond Mason

Dallas gets younger and more athletic but lose Kidd's cap relief. Or would you wait and hope Deron leaves the Jazz to sign with the hometown Mavs.

"Favorites" is a bit strong, but certainly there was much optimism about them by many people, including me. And now many are looking to implode the same team that was apparently so formidable a week ago. Standard reactionary response.
I dunno. There was only like 1 guy in the predictions thread that picked them to go the WC finals.

I'm not going to go back and check that you're not lying, but if this is real, bravo!

Anyway, **** you Dallas Mavericks for your POS offense that somehow shoots well enough to beat the Spurs, but loses to teams like GS and NO.

Dallas used to be good enough relative to the league that it could win games playing poorly. Everyone else got a lot better, and now they're toast if anything goes wrong (like everyone but Dirk and Terry missing every shot they take).

The Kidd trade still makes no sense to me. It wasn't smart for the future or this year, and I have no idea how the people paid to make these calls didn't get that. Even the Suns bad trade for Shaq was better.

I miss Del Harris.

I didn't get to watch much of the game last night, but I was wondering about something I saw mid-way through the 2nd quarter:

I noticed, 2 or 3 times in a row, the Mavs not having JKidd taking the ball up the court, and not even touching the ball during these possessions. I don't know if they did this as a way to extend JK's minutes, as teams will do, or if they did this a lot. If the latter, they're practically admitting that the trade was bad.

Also, the Hornets look really bad when CP3's not in the game (duh), maybe not as bad as the Cav's without Lebron, but they look really ordinary.

So Milwaukee would do this why?

Milwaukee isn't winning anyways (with a good roster too) and can get rid of Redd and Simmons contract.

They can play Kidd for one year while they groom Ramon Sessions to take over in 2 years. Then will have 20 mill in cap space to build around Sessions, J-Ho, Villanueva, Bogut, Yi, and sign a free agent SG/SF.

Dallas gets their new PG, a good 3pt shooter, and athletic, younger SG/SF in Mason and Simmons.

I think it is a good trade for both teams. As a Mavs fan, I would take it.

Jason Kidd needs to get suspended for that foul. If it was Paul, not pargo, who was fouled, Kidd would be suspended for sure. Or if pargo didn't put his hands there and breaks his nose.

It was a dangerous play and Kidd should pay the price.

if he did that to Paul, there would have been a monster bench clearing-fight

I bet if that happened Sheed would have emerged from the stands to split up the piles and break it up.

It's not that bad of a deal. Especially if you look in terms of money and yr remaining. Do you think Mil wants to pay their starting back court, Redd and Williams, 20 mill a yr for 3 more years after this one, when they cant even make the playoffs in the East.

Or pay Kidd, 20 mill for 1 more year and thats it. Howard sucks in the playoffs but his contract is very good, ~21 mill for 2 more years cause the 3rd year is the team's option. Plus Mil gets rid of Simmons horrible contract, 20.5 mill for the next 2 yrs. Howard and Simmons basically have the same contract but you get 12 more points from Howard.

the thing is if milwaukee starts shopping mike redd, there's going to be better offers than j-kidd (old, crappy), stackhouse (old, crappy), and josh howard (smokes pot). the best trade that cuban can make at this point would be to try to excavate devin harris and dasagna diop from a struggling nets team for a washed up jason kidd. it would eliminate some cap room, improve them at the point guard position, give them two players who aren't afraid of the paint, and increase their africanness.

Redd is 28. Kidd is 44.

Redd's deal isn't bad at all, even with his rather mediocre '07-'08 (by his standards). Pretty standard deal for a guy of his productivity.

You can't just lump his contract in with Simmons's quagmire. It's not bad, Bucks have no reason to want to move it.

You throw in Mo-Will, who's also got a great contract for his productivity, and he's only 25. No reason to move that.

And I don't even think Dallas can trade Stack, can they? Isn't his deal up after this year? It'd have to be a sign and trade, and wtf would Stack do that?

I don't care what tuq's PR policy is: your proposed deal is downright AWFUL. TURRIBULL even.
