billy payne has quietly been an off the charts amazing chairman

they have roughly doubled revenues while arguably increasing the prestige and uniqueness of the event

fun fact, augusta has been acquiring real estate surrounding the course for decades and hopes to soon house all players, members and their guests on club property for the week

Yes, Augusta National has been acquiring surrounding real estate, but they've also used much of what they've purchased. First they built the new practice area, then they used many acres for more parking. Lastly they built Berckman's Place.

The quote regarding housing reads...

Most insiders predict the club will use that prime land for housing and/or entertainment. The thinking is that the club would like to be able to house all its members on property during club events and all the competitors during the Masters.

...so as of now it's a rumor, albeit a strong one.

Enjoy seeing 3 shots and 8 Butler Cabin interviews. Coverage totally blows until the back 9 on Sunday, unfortunately.

Looking forward to it, though. This time of year I always get anal about my yard because I keep seeing pics of Augusta and it makes me want to have an immaculate yard.

GO RORY. Get my FELLOW YANKS SUPREMELY RUSTLED. Especially the fans of Philliam, the man who lacks the GRAND SALAMI. 6 2nds doth not equal a win, buster.

Long shot pick: Hideki Matsuyama. A "Chinaman" wins at Augusta and rustles the Old Guard beyond belief. No I have a feeling about him, though (like, maybe T5 or T3 or something). No idea why. He is quietly ranked top 20 in the world.

Great OP. Dustin Johnson should be listed as a contender, though. Dude seems to have settled down and started really capitalizing on his power/talent.

I like Day, I think. Only have bovada though, so will have to wait until Monday to bet him.

Spoiler:
You can actually use "Jap" on 2+2, it's like a convenient abbreviation or something like that.

Also I don't think Adam Scott is a contender. Hasn't he struggled mightily since switching to his short putter? I heard he was going to switch back for The Masters. But even still I'd expect his putting to be poor after having switched to short for a while.

Calling him a Jap is pretty strong but I think the Old Guard doesn't even know that epithet yet. They seem like the type who call all Asians Chinamen.

I like yes. Top 50 and ties plus 10 strokes right? Field is 99, of which maybe only 80 really have meaningful chance? He plays traditionally conservative early and loves the track. Gotta believe he finds a way to make weekend more than half the time.

(1) Yes, top 50 and ties and those within 10 strokes

(2) Currently 98 players (Tim Clark withdrew this week)

(3) Tiger will make the cut

btw, world class OP

tiger currently at 31.74 to win on pinnacle, and even that seems like a sucker bet

Tiger woods WILL make the cut.
I repeat
Tiger woods will make the cut!

If you like money, take tiger woods to make the cut.

Woods odds on Betfair aorn:
To win: 50.0
Top 5: 14.0
Top 10: 7.4
Make cut: 2.1

odds against to make the cut seems crazy. May have to back the adulterous swine after all.

Tiger will make the cut only after limping, holding his back, and getting his caddy to pick the ball out of the hole

The GOAT Event. Lego Rory! Gotta love how so many people give Tiger a chance. He will be happy to make the cut. That being said if it somehow happenned it would be awesome. Lol at the 50/1 the bookies are offering.

Tiger 2/1 to make the cut seems like an obvious bet. PK seems much less obvious, he's probably more likely to make the cut but I don't think I'd go there

No way those odds are legit. The odds we can get here are funny enough. Woods has as much chance as winning as like sandy lyle. lol.

I don't see 2:1 anywhere fwiw. Even money up and taking action by at least two Vegas books.
