All of these draftniks you speak of had Te'o as a top 5 pick before the bama game, Damontre Moore as a top 5 pick before the combine, Werner as a top 5 pick before the combine, Geno as the #1 pick, and plenty more lolz. Yeah congrats to them for ripping the Tebow pick like every other person with a pulse. Let's not pretend that just because they're in agreement on someone means he's a lock to have a great career. Mjw did a super solid writeup of Te'o in some non-Bama games and shredded him, much like he just did above. That kind of effort should be encouraged in SE.

I have no issue with mjw or any other people who have looked at tons of tape and brought their own opinions to the table. His post is absolutely fabulous, although I do wish he would have analyzed a tape other than Bama simply because I don't think his worst game in his career probably isn't the best sample to use(although I obviously admit they were the best team he played).

My issue is with the lemmings who just sort by Bama game and say he sucks. There's a whole lot of people who seem to think he doesn't suck and the vast majority of those people have more experience in this realm than almost every single one of us.

Dude your team got completely dismantled. They could have played Bama 100 times and they would have lost every time.

Yeah. Teo shows elite scrapping abilities and a high level of engaging offensive linemen with his hands. He shows this all the time. Or maybe he was playing behind arguably the most dominant DT in football last year that required a double team on just about every play.

He attacks holes very well. But as MJW says, he guesses. And has shown little ability when and how to engage an offensive linemen.

Teo can find success in a 3-4 as weak inside backer, and as a will backer in a 4-3 where he can drop into coverage and have outside shoulder contain when the DE is on a pure pass rush. He can run man to man. The issue is that the weak inside and WILL backer in a 4-3 is maybe the least important position ion an NFL defense.

Edit: this is assuming that SD just doesn't take him and try to teach him technique that Brian Kelly's staff clearly wasn't even attempting to do. Teo isn't an Ansah or a Mingo. This isn't a guy with a blank slate that can hopefully be molded. To me that is an issue. But he does have a spot on an NFL roster, imo, and can help. I'm not as negative on Teo as a player as others are. But sticking him as a strongside inside backer or as a primary Mike. I can't imagine how he succeeds without an elite level talent in front of him.

I made a big post previously on three of his games his junior/senior years. I didn't use screenshots but ill do that tomorrow when I have some time. He makes similar mistakes in every game I've watched.
