6 seems high regardless after terrible game against Alabama, but part of reasoning is "off-the-charts intangibles, he is the future leader of an NFL defense," and this happens and that doesn't change his rating at all? C'mon. I mean I could see a scout saying it doesn't change the rating, but that is only if they didn't have him ranked that high to begin with. And making a big deal out of his INTs doesn't seem like something a talent evaluator would do.

And will almost certainly drop on positional value, isn't positional value factored in the ratings? Seems like he is just buying himself an out ahead of time if/when T'eo is a late first rounder at best.

Edit: And forgot about the exceptional instincts part, know someone here did a "scouting report" of some of his game film and they said it was obvious that just the opposite was true.

This always seemed like one of the most believable defenses to the Te'o inconsistencies. 21 year old kid lying to dad about something involving girl in order to not have to answer more questions probably one of the more standard things in this crazy story.

I don't think this incident will have any impact on his draft stock at all. Kiper's rankings are based on who he thinks the best players are, not who he thinks will be drafted first.

The whole concept of this being a distraction is kind of ridiculous. There are distractions in every single locker room around the league. Chad Ochocinco was a distraction for a decade. Dez Bryant smacked around his Mom. A Cowboy died during the season(they got better). A chief killed himself during the season(they stayed the same). Rex Ryan is a distraction. Tebow is a distraction. Roethlisberger keeps raping people. How many DWI's are there a year? 20? 50? If Te'o is good at football his intangibles and leadership qualities are going to be just fine. If he's not good at football nobody will give a **** about him and they will be irrelevant.

As to the whole "instincts" thing. You'll have to excuse me but I think I'm going to take Kiper's word over some guy on 2p2. Not to say I think Te'o should be #6, or he has exceptional instincts, but I have no real issue with him being there if someone with way more game tape and way more experience says so.

Why would they give a spreadsheet of his phone logs and not the actual phone bill? Isn't this a major red flag?

Its not that he is a distraction. Sure, if he is really talented, he can still produce. But don't know how you can say that the facts we have now don't drastically affect the likelihood that this statement is true.

Whatever BS that was based on in the first place, surely has to be reevaluated now, right? And if you were giving him a boost for that before, shouldn't you drop him at least one spot after?

I genuinely don't think it has hardly any impact at all. If he's a good football player, people will listen to him, and none of this ever goes beyond some teasing that has no impact on anything.
