Nope, making an observation. People laughed when Curtis Painter scored on the #2 ranked defense in the league and he did fine last night in his first start.

james harrison now with broken orbital bone. Idk how long hes expected to miss, but Id really wish theyd stay healthy from here out. dont want to hear the injury excuses

From here out? Ben has a sprained foot, Harrison broken orbital bone (fwiw he played with this last week), 2/3 the O-Line is hurt, Keisel is hurt. LOL @ "from here out."

yea, but hes having surgery tomorrow and reports are guaranteed to miss some time.

more like lol @ the o-line getting hurt as being the problem. The O-line was terrible whether or not anyone got hurt.

injuries are a convenient excuse. Again, the offensive line was atrocious either way, are you failing to grasp that concept? Replacing a ****ty lineman with another ****ty lineman isnt a drop off.

i disagree. while scott isnt that good at tackle, hes at least adequate. he sturggles against elite pass rushers like freeney and suggs but has had some decent games and played well enough last year that they made it to the superbowl with him at LT. the guy replacing him isnt even a tackle. essex is really a guard, and he wasnt even on the team at the start of the year. there is def a drop off there. the drop off from legurksy to foster is more minor. they also went from starting colon at RT to a rookie.

btw aaron smith and mewellde mooe r also hurt. so is harrison's would-be back up worilds

Colon didnt play in 2010 and they made the superbowl. If were gonna go with the injuries excuse, go look at the giants roster. Its also something that a team should have somewhat anticipated given they have one of the oldest rosters in the nfl. Every team has injuries throughout the year, and thats why theres more to a team than their starting 22. Depth is critical.

Go figure...steelers offensive line production has been almost the exact same as last season, and in fact slightly better this year according to football outsiders. Keep using the O-line and injuries as the scape goat.

Pit 2010 19th in run blocking and 29th in pass protection
Pit 2011 18th in run blockng and 27th in pass protection

How much stock you want to put in that is debatable, but thats the best O-line stats that I can find, and so far, theres been little to no change in production based on that.

steelers defense is good statistically but that's pretty chargeresque as they've played two total lol offenses (colts, seahawks), got absolutely torched by the ravens and were very, very lucky with penalties against the texans that took yards and points off the board. now they lose a really good james harrison for a while. meanwhile on offense their line is horrid after being decimated by injuries. i could see them losing a bunch more games, even with their lol schedule.
