I think there are but Red bull are like sure you can try and copy them but it is no good if we keep improving because we have the chief designer who understands what works best from that base design.

However if Newey were to leave those previous grumblings from Red bull whenever we have seen ex-Red bull staff leave the team and say these Red bull inspired designs have turned up at Aston Martin will become outright war once someone like Newey leaves because they know that he will absolutely be able to beat his old team with his own designs and therefore Red bull would want to protect that whether through giving Newey gardening leave for a year to allow the designs to morph into something he had no hand in or to actually claim breaches of copyright and having cease and desist orders in place and/or injunctions that those designs can't be used.

Very messy and like I said for him to do that at his stage of his career is very unlikely.

He will also see the new engines in 2026 as enough of a design challenge to stick around until then and he would be heavily involved in that given they are producing their own engine for 2026.

Most of the Mexican fans haven't seen Checo pass even once in the race

LOL

Charles got squeezed. Maybe Verstappen went a bit wide, but Checo didn't give a lot of space for two cars

Ferrari wasn't limited by tire wear in that last stint. They were limited by car temperatures and couldn't push to get closer to Hamilton. Norris and Ricciardo both had great races.

Is it purely because I live in Australia that I see a lot of news reports about how phenomenal Ricciardo is? It seems that any minor achievement of his is blown out of proportion and he’s the next big thing, even though he’s 34yo.

Missed the race live. Saw a thumbnail of a Red Bull / Ferrari taking themselves out on the first turn. Thought to myself "That was probably Perez" Watched the race, yep Perez of course. At least LeClerc didn't get knocked out of the race.

I still think Daniel Ric is being lined up as the #2

Yup Ricc Increased his chances of getting the red Bull seat Bigley with this good performance. Checo reminds me of a desperate amateur at the final table just punting his stack away in unnecessary spots where being a little more patience and placing priority and staying alive in the game is more important.

Lower tier team with inferior car, is OK to go for broke and attack every little edge you can but RB19 is a championship car, there’s potential to wait for better spots.

Surely my idea for Checo to Williams to replace Sargeant works here to keep Mexico in the series and keeps the North American interest (particularly for the races in the US which are all basically southern races) and then Lawson can replace Ricciardo and Ricciardo can replace Perez - this surely is the solution to any unhappiness on the part of Checo?

I mean Checo still deserves a spot on the grid as you can't go from being in a team like Red bull to being off the grid all together (this is the Irvine, Coulthard, Barrichello and Massa rule amongst others).

I can’t see him getting a lifeline based on recent form. Early in the season, yes. But now idk. Since there aren’t any other seats clearly available anyway this wild scenario is basically the only one even possible.

If it isn't Williams it will be Alpha Tauri - bad look for Red bull if he falls completely off the grid after hiring him for their top team.

I still expect Perez to be in the RedBull next year. Ricciardo having 1 good race is not enough to put him in that seat after his performance in McLaren. It would be really embarassing if RedBull paid Perez top dollar to get him out of his contract and then Ricciardo doesn't perform any better. Who knows what options RedBull has during the 2024 silly season with tons of contracts expiring. They only replace Perez during the season next year if the WCC is in danger.

Vegas GP gonna be great to watch, unless you live and/or work there. I’ve been following the construction and locals have every right to be annoyed. They gonna be really pissed after 10 years of this.

Honestly it isn't really about the pace for Ricciardo but rather eliminating the embarassing **** ups of Checo of crashes and missing Q3s.

You mean the same embarrassing things Ricciardo had when he couldn't deal with a faster team mate?

Checo seems washed, so don't mind if he retires or goes to a lesser team, but Ricciardo is such a boring choice from a sporting perspective imo. He's already quite old and couldn't challenge Lando much less will be able to challenge Max. Would much rather see someone like Albon get a 2nd shot.

Red flag on lap 1, could be 5 cars out already. Leclerc, Albon and Magnussen all probably out. Not sure about the two Aussies, Piastri and Ricciardo.

Good effort by Norris, 6th to 2nd on lap 1. That should be the quinella right there.

Race boring again

Max slowly getting away from Norris into making himself forgotten for the remainder of the race has been an incredibly usual pattern this year
