Leonardo might actually salvage the Scudetto for Inter this season.

If Inter wins both the games they missed due to the club world cup, they are gonna be 5 points behind Milan ( make that 2 if Milan loses tomorrow ).

I'd say that's a pretty good shot.

Well this weekend was about as perfect as it can get. Crucial away win, looking good coming out of the break. Bayern and Mainz both losing points and the blue plague lost as well.

A+

Up 13 points; 16 games to go. 12 more wins to ship it. Counter officially started.

Will mostly be watching Sunderland-Newcastle from now, but some first half thoughts from Sardenia vs Sicily (Cagliari against Palermo) :

Cagliari without playmaker Cossu did absolutely nothing for the first 22 minutes.

Palermo, without not really doing much themselves controlled things rather comfortably. And if the 3(!) Cagliari strikers hadn't at least worked hard pressing the Palermo defenders it could easily have been much worse for them being passed around in midfield, forced to make even more fouls.

Then out of nowhere and thanks to a clear offside Matri (one of the best strikers in Serie A this season) makes it 1-0 Cagliari and Palermo's not unusual response for them was to kind of fall apart and do even much less than a somewhat revitalized Cagliari for the rest of the half.

Pastore the focal point started playing more futsal than actual football and I'm not sure they created a single chance.
And up front Maccarone wasn't able to do much against a competent Cagliari defense where not least Astori is quickly establishing himself as one of Italy's best centrebacks.

Cagliari will no doubt be very intent on protecting their lead, so Palermo will have to wake up (but it's early! Which has been a problem before..) and/or coach Rossi come with something very good.

Real Madrid vs Almeria starting now. CRon playing as a striker in front of Kaka, Ozil and Di Maria.

Almeria playing a 4-4-2. Last time they did that they lost 8-0... gl

If Benzema wasnt completely out of favour and they chose to actually play a striker rather then Ronaldo up top, then I still think they go Kaka > Ozil in the middle given Kaka gets back over the next month to something resembling Kaka 07 mode.

Ole. Madrid behind.
01-16-2011 , 03:17 PM
Almeria 1-0 Real Madrid. Lol. Hold.
01-16-2011 , 03:18 PM

Typical.

Should shoot and go 2-0 up.

Then Madrid shoot and score.

This isn't guaranteed you know, even with Jose. He'll probably get better but I don't think he'll get near that level again.
