I heard Ryan Leaf as like a correspondent from The Masters on the Dan Patrick show and he sounded like he finally had his **** together. Maybe hope for JFF?

Couch was 16 years old when it happened. Even without the defense what kind of jail term is someone looking at there? 2 years, maybe?

Pretty hilarious to me that Josh Gordon and JFF wouldn't sign up for this in exchange for about $70M+ in career earnings like Dez.

I think he's become an actor. Maybe they're doing a remake of Requiem For a Dream and no one can find Jared Leto.

Given his height 165 is not that bad. He's about 5'11"

Him dropping weight can also be because he stopped working out, etc and just doesn't give a **** about football. I think it's pretty obvious that he wasn't interesting in playing for a while now.

If he doesn't want to play football that's fine but I have no idea what the long term plan is. Maybe a lot of this behavior is just to get out of playing football. It seems very destructive and perhaps is just a way to exit via drugs, etc. Reality might be that he can't hack it as a pro football player and this is just away to get out without ever having be criticized for being ****ty at football or a coward.

given he weighed 210lb at the combine, 165 would be really bad, considering he's a young (former) pro athlete. this obviously isn't like me as a 21 year old losing 45 pounds of fat.

I'm about the same height as him. I've weighed 165. It's thinner but not a terrible weight. Besides do we really know what he weighs?

Also, I work out. Maintaining a fit 210 is not easy at all. Takes a lot of work. When you stop that maintenance and eat normally you can easily drop down to 165-175. It's actually easier to do that than maintain 210 unless you are a food junkie and just want to be fat.

Not making excuses for JFF btw. Just pointing out that losing his football weight mainly points to him not working out and not eating to maintain that weight and not necessarily a three month cocaine binge. It's likely some combination of the two but who knows how much of each.

Not a bad weight now that his NFL career is finished. Maybe he can become a cyclist or something.

I'd say most 23 year old dudes who go on 3 month party binges don't get skinnier unless coke/meth/etc is involved. if he just decided to stop working out and is now eating pizza 3 times a day he'd look pudgy, not skinny

He seems to have realized that he is a failure (relative to his expectations) at NFL football and a ****-up in life, and he seems to be having more than a little trouble dealing with that.

It won't end well, but there are far sadder stories than his.

Leaf's fallen back off the wagon several times (after sounding like he had his **** together). He's not exactly an ideal positive outcome from somebody coping with substance abuse, more a cautionary tale that it's pretty much always an issue.

I don't think people hated on bucco for his POV. We hated on him because he was condescending and holier-than-thou about the whole damn thing from the very beginning, when it seemed like it was just a boy having fun out there.

"I’m hoping to take care of the issues in front of me right now so I can focus on what I have to do if I want to play in 2016,” Manziel said in a statement provided to USA TODAY Sports. “I also continue to be thankful to those who really know me and support me."

You guys just don't really know him
