Re: Hypothetical (complete with IRL superpowers)

i might have a shot at baseball given i trained since t-ball knowing i'd have this power. i def wouldn't have the arm for mlb outfield, so would have to hope for 2b or DH. would def have to take roids. not sure 2 mins would give me enough time to fade testing though.

this gets a lot more interesting if you start to think about managing the skill so you didn't get burned at the stake for witchcraft. i mean, you can't really go your career w/out giving up a goal or even never lose a game, right?

Re: Hypothetical (complete with IRL superpowers)

I feel like golf is the best sport for a scenario like this. You need too much natural ability to play the other sports. Rewinding two minutes at practice would give you tons of reps, and having the ability to hit putts/chips until you make would be a license to print money.

Re: Hypothetical (complete with IRL superpowers)

Well if you're an adult the answer is no because you aren't going to get a tryout unless you appear freakishly athletic and go dominate a lower league. If you had this power from childhood and you actually got good enough at a sport to not look totally terrible you could dominate high school and go from there. Baseball seems the easiest because if you could get to the point where you were a "true" .050 hitter you could hit anything you wanted up to 1.000.

Re: Hypothetical (complete with IRL superpowers)

I would be the ultimate troll in MLB. I would get intentionally walked every plate appearance because if I face an ace I'll just foul off infinite pitches until the pitcher has to be relieved unless he gives up and walks me instead. Thus, very quickly teams will adjust and simply intentionally walk me every time I come up or occasionally try to drill me in the head which of course will never work.

If we could surmount that, sure, why not.

I think I could chuck ridiculous basketball shots up ad nauseum and sport a 80+ FG% from way beyond the arc. I'd assault whomever I was defending until I got a clean steal. Rinse, repeat. But I'd probably hit myself in the forehead with my baseball bat more often than I'd get on base.

I'm a teenage girl, though, so it'd probably be easier for most of y'all.
you'd really be bored??? That seems insane to me. You're playing a professional sport in front of thousands watching, trying to play against pro level competition would be an awesome experience, and you get to end up looking great no matter what.

i'd be the best basketball player of all time. elite at taking charges and 100% (i might miss a few so ppl didnt' think something was up) at shots from 35 feet out. it'd be glorious.

(but terribly boring to reply a million times over)

a regular season nba game would take like 5 hours though. the first one would be amazing. the ten one might still be fun, but by the second or third season, i feel like it'd just be terrible-- i mean, you'l NEVER be able to dribble inside the three point line, so your offense will be pretty limited (tho you could, theoretically, just replay stuff a bunch of times and do stuff like yell "don't shoot it!" to a teammate that's about to miss, right?), and on defense you'll only be able to take charges effectively (and guard matt bonnar, maybe).

You could troll the world pretty well with this power. Say you're in the NFL- one game just don't the opposing team gain any yards on offense. Rewind it if the play isn't a negative gain or no gain. Everyone would be shocked that a totally average defense suddenly allowed 0 positive plays in a NFL game, and then next week they'd go right back to being average.

why? The OP said that we don't get fatigued from replaying things again and again, so I would try to pull off crazy moves/shots/passes. Each time you replay a scenario, you can adjust for how the defender reacted previously, so I think you're underrating how many trials it'd take in order to be successful. It'd be so much fun.

I'd rather use this power to improve my cunnilingus skills. My tongue would never get tired!

On a similar note, you could keep going back a couple seconds mid splooge and have an effectively infinite orgasm.

This would a great spot for that GIF of the white cat who gets more and more amazed.

And apparently, you're a taker and I'm a giver.

Golf is clearly the answer. Don't need to worry about making the team or even being athletic. There's a place for a grinder who can't hit the long ball but never ever ****s up.

his reaction would be "im much, much, MUCH bigger, faster and stronger than you, i'm in front of you, now and forever, and i've stolen the ball. keep replaying life? that's okay, i have many different ways i can steal the ball from you, you foolish little white boy."

So you think you can get a birdie on every hole with infinite redos? (I know pretty much nothing about golf, so I have no idea)
