Right, with Webster focusing on ST, I would actually like to get your CB Exa. We can't really use the DT however, as we're already full on them.

me and seth were talking. We need to figure out some way to organize these 2+2 teams because competing with each other for players and such isn't the best way for us as 2+2 to completely dominate this game. There def has to be a more efficient way, kinda like a baseball organization designating a team as our Pro team, AAA, AA, A, Rookie, whatever. But doing so might alienate some people on the Trout who would get bumped for better players. Any ideas?

I don't know; our team is very deep in talent, and pretty much everybody contributes on the team forums. I just wouldn't like to see people get straight up kicked off the team.

Especially considering that the Devs have intimated that the game will be somewhat re-orged into a single hierarchy for next season, and that depth is both important and nearly impossible to "home grow" considering the way the XP system works. I mean the Trout are awesome this year, but imagine if all 40 whatever players had been starting for other teams for a full season. The good thing is, considering the cyclical nature of the game, people and their player's will always get a shot at the top tier at some point. We just need to make sure we have something of an understanding about which team gets 'top pick'.

The problem is that by keeping the roster intact, we will badly lag in terms of depth, as the teams we will be playing against will be comprised of all guys who have maxed XP on lesser teams. Considering that each "player" seems to have a limited shelf life, there is always going to be some turnover anyway.

Having a minor-league team of young guys to replace the old players to have a steady flow of talent is cool, but I really like the group of people that we have on the team right now. Some of the intelligence and insight is more valuable than having the very best talent.

There is something to this. But, like I said, the rotation of players will be cyclical.

Also, We will be putting ourselves at a big disadvantage when our lvl 12 backup CB is going against lvl 16 backup WRs, for example.

Considering there's a lot of people on both teams and I've tried to spark discussion in the Penguin forum, I don't really see how this can be blamed on us. You also have a lot more different people making up your team than ours, where at least half the team is me, seth, and thayer. So basically I'm seeing that some of you that are on both apparently have no desire to make the Penguin team better, and also that apparently a couple of you have no desire to make the Trout team the best it could be either as the argument that new people coming into the Trout team wouldn't contribute a ton also is ridiculous.

I'm not sure what the deal is. I know I have a guy on the Trout and two on the Penguins and keep up with all of them daily, but just the fact that my CB for the Trout is a starter and my other two guys are backups makes me naturally more involved with the Trout affairs.

I want to see the Trout get better and think it would be best for the "team" to combine starters of the two, but no one on the team right now wants to get replaced. I doubt current Penguin starters want to become a backup for Brown because I know I wouldn't want it to happen the other way.

FWIW I haven't been able to post on either forum lately b/c of lots of other commitments; however I've been keeping my players up to date and will do more once **** calms down around here

If the goal was to make one dominant team and one or two minor league/developmental teams, I'd have no problem with any of my starters being put into backup positions to accomplish this, and vice versa, I'd think some current backups would welcome the chance to start on a team and become better.

I don't know, I guess I'm just confused that I basically offered up my team to use as a D-Squad team with the idea of making one super team and you guys are all like hells no we don't need you.

I wasnt sure how many of the players were yours personally, I was more thinking about how if it was me I wouldn't want my current starter to become a backup on a "super team". I wouldnt object at all to bringing over some of your starters to fill out the depth chart, but I think that the current backups on the Trout shouldn't be forced out. And FWIW right now a lot of our backups are the same level as Penguin starters anyway, although maybe you were thinking a year from now or so.

Right, as the game progresses, the gap between starters and backups will start to grow. Hence the need for rotation of new blood to fill the backup/depth roles, while the formed backups can move "down" a division and get tons of XP.

Guys,

Damn, I leave for an hour and all hell breaks loose.

Ok few things. Firstly Sethy, we aren't getting combined into one league, Bort replied to a post of mine 2 days ago saying it will be multiple regions like now. Just FYI there if it changes your thought process.

As for Meb's issue, of course we should help each other, I agree totally. We've talked about this privately in the Trout forum and nothing is really needed until about year 3. At that point, it would make sense to have a team that rotates players heavily (i.e. set subs at 99/0 so they rotate almost every play). The team can still compete, but it will obviously not be it's sole purpose.

We can flesh this idea out more later, but I'd be interested to here ideas from Meb and Co.

Lastly, person-who's-name-is-a-solid-brown-line, who are you?

re: the Farm system. We already on that.

re: for real about the Penguins. To be honest I don't contribute much for either team. I go over film occasionally, but mostly I just try to stir **** up and brag a lot about 2/3 FG days. dat's right.

To be truthful, you can't expect someone who contributes a lot to the Trout to do the same for Iceballs. It's time consuming. I think part of the reason we get a lot of input on the Trout board is Cody posts A LOT and got a lot of things started, and from their little pockets of activity start. After every game he starts a post-game thread, and then a scouting/prep thread for the next game. He also started sticky threads for all the different areas of the game (except for Special Teamz cuz me and Buljin got dat locked down son).

Meb, you're the CEO, Seth is the prez, or whatever. Maybe both of you should get the ball rolling. Start pre-game/post-game threads, support Billy Shakes poetry, etc.
