He was Ireland's stand out player in the tournament for what that's worth. Brady's eye catching goals notwithstanding.

My ex housemate was an avid Derby fan and I've been subjected to dozens of games over the past few years and I've never been particularly impressed with Hendrick that I thought he would do well in the PL (compared to someone like Will Hughes).

I guess the fact that it's a free transfer makes it kind of work as a payoff. Presumably his wages for slightly less than two years he has left equate to about £8-10m, so Nice having to pay that but getting him on a free isn't an awful deal.

Perhaps, but what I meant was, they have been underachieving given the quality of players they have (or maybe just the money spent on those players). If your assertion is that the players are crap, then they haven't really been underachieving.
