Rivers lead the league in YPA each year during that stretch and was #7, #8, and #3 in completition %. He didn't get much help from the running game, as SD was pretty poor during that stretch.

Rivers lost so much in terms of receiving targets (Vjax, Sproles, Gates is no longer a shadow of what he was in 2008-2010), but before he was able to make due despite skill position injuries when the oline was good. Nobody is sure why he's playing worse. I've heard multiple times people think he has been playing hurt. That might be right. One thing I've seen, and Rivers is far from the first QB to have this happen when the oline quality decreases dramatically, is that he plays like he is sensing pressure when it isn't even there. Like he's paranoid he's about to take a hit.

yep river's oline is a HUGE problem that people don't account for nearly enough. its right down there with chi/phi/az, the former two of which constantly take a lot of the blame for their QB's struggles. PFF had SD's oline 31st in the league in pass blocking efficiency this year.

Actually not being facetious. I kinda legit think he's a choker despite not believing that of anyone else in the entire league. I remember after the Giants game in Week 17 last year saying "you know I've been wrong about Romo this whole time, everyone else was right and I was wrong, he's actually a huge choker." Then when I had a bunch of money on the Redskins in Week 17 this year and the Cowboys got the ball back down 3 I wasn't even worried at all. Started going through my phone and texting people that Romo was gonna choke, but only got one text out before he threw the pick.

Kenny, Moose, and Goose being benched in Round 2 for Brenneman and Billick.

I think it's kind of a toss up. Kenny>>>>Thom. Thom loves hearing the sound of his own voice and misses stuff during the game. Kenny is a true pro, although his lazy eye is distracting. Moose and Goose are meh. I don't hate Goose like some but I'm never too impressed by their analysis. Billick is kind of a douche who uses stupid coachspeak like keeping a timeout in your back pocket for the FG team, but occasionally he provides interesting X's and O's.

I wish CBS would bench Gumbel and Dierdorf for the Bird and the Beard (Eagle and Fouts).

Drinking game for every Billick use of the word "verbage."

Now does Buck/Aikman get the obviously better GBvSF game on Saturday, or are they a lock for whoever ATL loses too?

yeah I gotta think either way Buck and Aikman are in SF

GB at SF >> Was/Sea at Atl
Was/Sea at SF >> Min at Atl

Have people actually watched Rivers play this year? It's painfully obvious that his velocity is waaaaaaay down. People are also forgetting that Rivers makes his OL look worse because he can't avoid pressure.

He may have the weakest arm and worst mobility of all starting QBs.
