It's where the quality of teams should tell. Once defences get tired then the good players get more chances, especially ones off the bench (Lukaku tonight) and it makes it so much easier for them.

Very conflicted feelings. Wanted that win very badly and thought Wondo had it. Wanted that tie very badly, unfortunate to not convert the 2-2 tie. Very proud of our bros and their resiliency in the face of injuries and mistakes. Very confident in and appreciative of Jurgen, think he's absolutely awesome.

Wanted MOAR SOCCER so badly. There is no doubt in my mind that I'll be following EPL etc., but the passion and desperate fandom isn't the same (given that I didn't grow up with an allegiance to any European soccer team, obviously).

When I was 13 I attended the USA v. Columbia game at the Rose Bowl (1994) and have not, to this day, experienced a moment of patriotism and communal cooperation as powerful as the scene on the streets surrounding the Rose Bowl after that game. People of every heritage were waving flags, dancing, hanging out of cars, high-fiving, screaming, hugging and coming together in celebration and excitement about a soccer game.

Every four years the World Cup brings the possibility of cultural, political and interpersonal transcendence - for just a bit, and in just a sliver of our lives - through sport. This World Cup delivered.

Filled with pride in our team, and humbled that this year's World Cup managed to deliver the transcendent spark we were all hoping for.

Well played to Belgium, and with class and superior weapons.

Cannot wait to start the grind toward the next World Cup. Cannot wait to take our next SHAT at the Cup.

Well played, USA#1. Hell of a ride.

Great game, good job Belgium, proud of how the USMNT did despite the loss, Tim Howard for president.

It would have been called offside if Wondo had finished.

Best ET evaaar.

Only spoiled by the guy missing the sitter which was mistakenly called off side. Game would have been 100000000000000000xinfinity+1 better if he had scored and then it was incorrectly called offside.

Awesome bro, just from the surface it looks like a boring game but when you get into it and 'feel' it it's experience wise just the best damn sport there is.

Properly sad. Overall we obviously deserved none of that game, but the timing of the misses of our best chances...just brutal. Gl to belgium, like that team a lot.

F60 chose his EPL team by poll, (it gets mentioned from time to time) he now seems pretty emotionally invested in the team that was chosen.

a decent match doesn't look the slightest bit boring when you've been raised playing and watching the sport.

US sports look as dull as ditchwater to me, but I do appreciate that to you guys it's very different.

Alright, I don't know if i'm the only one here but I'm actually a Belgian and wanted to say well done to USA. As you guys said, not the most talent but great amount of WIM. I would have actually found it really easy to root for you if Belgium wasn't my country. Hopefully this was a great display to promote "soccer" and more Americans will get into it.

Oh and keep Klinsman, he's a quality manager.

Enough for now, going to have a waffle

I mean, I legit do not understand your apparent hatred for diversity of interests. We don't hate you for having only one food dish. (Yes, I realize that you call them "tacos" and "burritos" and "enchiladas" and "chimichangas," but that's little more than an exercise in semantics; it's the same ****ing food cooked 15 different ways.) We don't hate you for your one TV channel (Telemundo) or one major export (migrant labor) or one season (the middle of summer). Somehow we manage not to take it personally. Yet, for whatever reason, you do. Why? If it was up to me you could have Texas back if that is the source of your angst. But not southern Arizona, we (over) paid for that **** yo.

So imo get yourself a satellite dish and discover all the diverse richness USA#1 has to offer. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.

Also, for our massive exhibition of WIM which allowed your country the opportunity to even participate this year
