I think that's fatigue more than WIL.

Germany won't play for a draw imo. This is a prime opportunity for them to possibly knock out the favorite while having the advantage of an extra day of rest.

Just to F with Portugal, Low and Klinsman should agree to let GER take a 4-0 lead, only to have USA to equalize with 4 goals after the 80th minute.

Klinsmann asked about collusion with GER: "The US is known to give all they have in every single game, otherwise Mexico wouldn't be here."

This guy alone is going to get me more invested in soccer.

Germany with that team won't play for a draw. Simply because it would suit the US a lot more. They will play to win and win comfortably.
Why would Germany want to keep it tight when 1 moment of variance and they aren't top.
The US will sit back obviously, so Germany will attack.

great group this has really turned out top be, as we all knew it would be a good one.

holy****, am i the only poster here who has been accurately descirbing Portugual the past 4 years? overrated on every side of the pitch, Ronaldo has a heavy load, especially since Deco and Figo being shot/gone
06-22-2014 , 09:57 PM
yes and no on germany pushing

if germany takes a 1-0 lead they will have little reason to do anything at all other than stand around, especially the longer it stays that way
06-22-2014 , 09:57 PM
only lolUEFA lovers and Ronaldo ballwashers think Portugal is good

Funny thing is if U.S. was in most groups, they would be through easily.

I'm really happy CONCACAF has been crushing this tourney. It's fun to razz Mexico and all, but U.S. beating Mexico and vice versa shows both teams are pretty solid.

Not to mention Costa Rica is going HAM. I think all 3 have a legit chance to make round of 8. Expect 2.

I was wrong, I didn't think a lol euro would ever understand american WIM.

Lol at everyone assuming a 0-0 draw. Like Germany won't even try to score a goal? Wishful thinking by US fans, a team can play conservative and still score.

Every soccer analyst and fan I've ever read says that Portugal is a sort of decent team that happens to have the 2nd best player in the world that makes them a lot more dangerous than they otherwise would be.

they are defintely a middle of the road team that should beat the USA. MEX and the like.

you take out Ronaldo and you have a bottom tier 50% team imo, their midfield is really poor compared to 2002-04 which everyone seems to think its the same team or some ****

Only 20% of the things have to go wrong, apparently.

yeah, but a conservative team playing against a well organized defense who has no motivation to risk getting out of position is an almost guaranteed snoozefest. Sure, Germany can bink one on a set piece (even though the US is pretty good at those) or through individual brilliance, but I wouldn't expect much.

Germany 3-0.
Portugal 2-0 to draw lots would be epic.

I hope they make it some showpiece event with some big buildup.
