I don't understand the Wilshere hate, the guy has the ability to control the game.

Wasted playing for England.

Pirlo dominated the game again and was the best player on the park. He sprinted 4 time in the entire game. Yet still wasn't marked out the game.

You lot had Scholes as well, you wasted him for the dynamic Gerrard and Lampard. It'll be a shame if Hendo starts playing over Wilshere all the time.

Back then with that epic back 4 (**** keeper though) and scholes in the centre of the park would have been very good. Owen and Rooney upfront.

Is way better than this current set up.

I was disappointed that we didn't get to see Henderson press high up the pitch. His Prem stats were great last season in regards to winning the ball back in the final third but it felt like he was barely able to push on that much.

We did not seem to have any shape when off the ball, this was really true in the first game as well when Italy were able to move the ball through our lines seemingly at will. Yea our DF is much weaker, but the Gerrard/Henderson axis in MF was also pretty **** as well imo.

Teams with pretty meh players can get some good results or at least really leverage their effectiveness via organisation and discipline, as we have seen several times already this world cup. Organisation and discipline does not just mean putting 11 men behind the ball, you can still attack pretty aggressively and plan a system that allows for more defensive solidity that we showed. Not at all convinced that Woy has that in his locker.

Costa Rica already with 6 points and haven't even played against the worst team in the group yet. Elite stuff.

I'd have to agree, it wasn't what we saw of them as a partnership for Liverpool. They were both essentially playing as defensive midfielders so we lacked that midfielder who could probe and play the quick stuff with the 10 imo. In hindsight Wilshere would have been a better option if that's how we were going to set up.

You should probably put a taller guy with larger arm span in goal too.

Yes, stick Lebron James in goal. I remember some American arguing that Lebron would be elite in goal last WC or so.

Joe Hart is a major leak for England. He makes far too many erratic errors, his positioning is horrendous, he gets credit for exaggerating easy saves - but never actually makes world class saves.

Fraser Forster is a much better choice IMO. He's proved himself with world class displays in the Champions League. I'd rather a good goalie from a small club than an unreliable goalie from a big club.

Really happy that CR won especially after that atrocious no call in the box. One could argue their one goal never happens if they were correctly awarded a penalty kick but still I hate to see that happen.

how about lets see some gears in the old mans brain turn a bit and he try something totally different. If GOAT COAST plays 3 at the back, go ahead and match up with them. Smalling/Jones as the right CB in a back 3 makes sense since they also play RB ...... Sterling in behind the 2 strikers and pick whatever 2 central mids you want.

or go copy the liverpool 433 or diamond just to see what happens.

just do something you senile old ****.

I usually go to England at least once a year, [ I'm Canadian, my wife is British] I have friends who have had season tickets for City for something like 6 years. They are mad fans, and oddly his wife is even more passionate than he is. They don't have a single good word to say about Hart.

He'll probably put in Lampard so he gets one more cap (doubt Lampard will play in the Euros, right?)

Obviously, he should give younger players who are likely Euro 2016 players a chance to play together
