Höwedes-Hummels-Boateng-Lahm

France : Lloris (c) - Debuchy, Varane, Sakho, Evra - Cabaye, Matuidi, Pogba - Valbuena, Griezmann, Benzema.

i'm pretty happy with that

Beaten by the early confirm ^^^^^^

and mixed feelings about the changes. It's adjusting to the opponent in quite a significant way which Löw maybe in the past haven't done a whole lot but when the last time Germany was knocked out of something, against Italy, it was argued that he overplayed that card.

If Khedira is nearer top form then maybe we won't have a midfield problem at all.

Boateng will have to be his mobile self without any LÖL to justify dumping big Mert. Someone who Löw ALWAYS plays. Very surprising.

It's basically a midfielder inserted who hasn't been too comfortable protecting his defense in this system and I guess Boateng who plays and moves in a high-line all the time to compensate?

I like Klose getting a go and Müller therefore in his best role.

yeah this might get ugly with Lahm/Muller but hey at least we have Griezmann to track back and help LOLEvra instead of Benzema/Giroud

yeah the reinvented "Lahm and Müller combo" running putting a lot of pressure on the France left should be huge.

If Löw was coaching France he'd probably bench Pogba due to lack of experience or something.

I'm in a state of tilting right now due to Höwedes. Betting 1 Euro on Höwedes to score.

So the reasoning seems to be Merte too slow -> Boateng. Merte is way too good and provides too much leadership to ever see the bench imo but at least not just clicking buttons. The extra speed at CB is also supposed to cover a bit for Höwedes so I guess we'll cheat left a bit.

I guess on the bright side Durm's extension talks will be slightly easier for us after the WC.

yeah I just thought Boateng looked (unusually) pretty damn slow himself last game and there was talk of a knee injury.

Merte always delivers a 8/10 performance and peaks out there while boateng could possibly play a 10/10, so it looks like Löw is scared and thinks hes gonna need Goateng to goateng to have a chance.

In #Buli I trust.

+1 on him looking kind of slow last game. Whatever the coach sees them in practice and he'll know that he's fit and good to go.

My gut feeling is that Özil will actually have a sick game today for some reason.

bwin: free 5 Euro bet for one of the other two quarterfinals if you place at least 1xlive bet each quarter final today with odds of 2 or worse.

Guess I'll just take one of Müller/Klose today and Colombia to advance or Rodriguez to score tonight.

Massive 5 Euro bets ITT

Not that it's man vs man but Kroos if in more primarily AM role gegenpressing France midfielders especially Cabaye will be pretty huge preventing counters.

Then Schweinsteiger will also be in Matuidi places a lot and the other way around. That is if Schweinsteiger can keep up with all the running (it didn't use to be a problem) which could be a clear France edge. I think Schweinsteiger has looked sharp enough though, more sharp than in a while, to mostly let his work with the ball do the talking.
