Falcons going run run run punt on that following drive with Eagles having 3 timeouts was way worse coaching decision.

Somebody should really keep track of all the bad decisions. It would be interesting to see some stats like Incorrect Decisions per Game, etc and see how that maps out to wins/loses.

As it is now though a win seems to negate all the bad decisions. Last night there were about 3-4 really bad decisions by the Atl coaching staff but they won so it will just get ignored until week. It could have easily gone the other way. For example the run-run-run-punt at the end of the game would be looked at today as terrible if the Eagles would have scored after it to win. Instead people are talking about how Quinn got his first win and everything is great now.

I mean go through every game and keep track of:

1. Type (4th down, onside, going for 2, taking vs not taking a penalty)
2. Result (from good or bad decision)
3. Won/Lost game

There could be some other metrics as well, but it would be cool to see that there were 256 incorrect 4th down decisions for the year and if there were 2+ bad decisions per game the win rate was 36% etc, etc.

Someone would have to watch each game and I don't have 40 hours a week to devout to that.

Joe Theisman (who is an idiot, but relatively not so much) used to always defend these calls by saying "you always have multiple options and the defense takes away the long ones so you have to take the shorter ones and hope your receiver can break a tackle..." and this was back in the 80s and I don't think much has changed, coaching thinkwise.
