I mean, I literally thought 20 laps ago that Verstappen is exactly the kind of moron who is going to dive at Lewis way too late in the race to make up the 5 seconds, and then he did exactly that for objectively no reason or benefit. Kid is clearly an idiot.

btw absolutely hilarious moment on the podium there, seb and bottas solemnly exchange pleasantries and commentator goes 'of course usually the champagne would be flowing, but today its much more dignified in memory of niki lauda' -> IMMEDIATE cut to lewis running down the pit straight spraying champagne wildly at randoms

He has calmed down a ton. That late lunge while isn't even in top 50 of his questionable moves. He also gets 2nd or 3rd if he passes as they will be stuck behind Lewis.

That could have been terrible. Yeah I think Perez needs to slam on the anchors there, emergency stop.

You can see he instantly lifts. I think cold tires and cold breaks he has just as much of a chance of losing the rear of the car and killing the guy on the left as he does of stopping. It is on who ever put the green light on at the end of pit lane.

I was fairly blown away that took place in 2019. Like 3 inches form 2 dead marshals.

I don't think he's going nearly fast enough to not be able to stop. If he is, then he is seriously at fault - the rules are very clear - Safety Car always has double waved yellows: "No overtaking, drivers should proceed with great caution and be prepared to stop."

I mean, look at this still taken from the video:

We are before the 100m board and people are in view. The people are right near the corner, clearly they are well past the 50m board. Say 75m to be generous. That's stopping distance for your average terrible 3 ton family saloon car at 60mph! Of course he can fully stop from what, ~100mph at this distance.
