not sure a random group of journos voting for whatever is the bestest of evidence of all-time greatness.

but yes, messi is obv the goat and ron maybe the 2nd goat or at least in the group of 2nd goats with maradona and pele and whoever.

The Greatest of All Time: Someone who won all the collective and individual trophies with different clubs and his national team*

2 - Don Alfredo Di Stefano

3 - Maradona, Pele etc. players who've led their NTs to eternal glory

4 - the rest

*
Spoiler:
idk if Messi qualifies for this, I might have to look into it

it's just science

we've heard you the first 20 times you said it and we don't buy it. when are you going to start calling Argentina and average side, so that it won't be Messi's fault again when they fail to win the World Cup?

do you actually watch football? did you see what argentina did in qualification without messi?

and barca likewise. the reason people say they are bad is because, apart from messi, they really are bad at football. most of the rest is terrible to watch

Yes, I saw they didn't do good. As opposed to when Messi played with them, he did so great they only lost 4 finals, banned the journalists, started crying and left the NT.

That's 21 times now, maybe if you reach 50 times we will actually be convinced Barcelona are piss poor and only kept afloat by Messi.

I agree with all of Ronaldo’s ballon d’or wins. He is good enough that the trophies won are enough to overcome the difference in footballing skills between him and Messi. Good for him. Congratz Ronaldo ,congratz RITS.

He is supposed to be very good. I only watched him in the libertadores final.
In that game he won motm even though he only played the first half. Crazy especially considering he is a defensive mid and didn’t score.
He is a fan of Iniesta and he has a style that reminds him. Will probably walk right into that terrible Barca midfield right now.

What's there to talk about, though? There are like 10 posts in a week here. Do you want to know more about that Arthur kid from Gremio? Are we disrupting some conversation about some losers from the 14th place in Germany, or some player in Ireland literally nobody in the world cares about?

That's daca's schtick since the season started, nobody buys it, though. Let him be salty, the king is thriving.

It’s so funny that he’s second fiddle to messi and how annoyed you get with it.

Just enjoy them both. You’d be absolutely seething if Argies won one of the coin flip pen shoot outs for their continental cup.

Well random group of journos is better than the FIFA method. Also I can't imagine any more than 2 years of the last 10 where any method you can name would have a different name than those two.

nah. it fairly clear that

13 goals and insane creativity from everywhere

has been >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

2 goals and some great touches, but mostly looking to get at the end of something penalty area (and then not scoring). + a 4 game ban for being an idiot.

it might not be 28 points, but it's many of them

criticising this barca team is also obviously not some gimmick.

it's the pure genuine annoyances at how badly the squad has been ****ed up that occurs every time you see them play. it's both feeling cheated that something that should be really fun to watch has been turned into something pretty dreary. and the feeling that it will all come apart fairly easily, when it really shouldnt.

RM screwed up as well by not giving Pepe one more year, not buying a decent striker after Mariano and Morata left, not buying a replacement for Carvajal etc.

Well, that's why Cristiano won 4 BdO's in the last 5 years, the people who vote don't filter the stats like you do. They don't live in a world you've created, so that Messi is the always the best. You can't draw the line where you want to.

Messi has 16 goals in CL and La Liga

Ronaldo has 11 goals in CL and La Liga

wow, 5 more goals and insane creativity from everywhere. let's have a look at these goals.

3 goals in the CL, 2 against Juventus at the Camp Nou, when they were missing about 6 starters, 1 against Olympiakos at the Camp Nou. Lost points due to not scoring against Juve and Olympiakos and would have lost points against Sporting as well, had it not been for an 0-1 own goal. insane creativity from everywhere.

13 La Liga goals, 2 v Alaves, 3 v Espanyol, 4 v Eibar, 2 v Las Palmas, 1 v Bilbao. won these games against these La Liga powerhouses.

1 goal v Celta <- they lost points

But wait. How come there are so few games, while Barcelona is 8 pts ahead, that can't be right. They are piss poor, remember? They can't win without him. Well, yeah, they can. Messi didn't score in these matches

Betis, Getafe, Girona, Atletico, Malaga, Sevilla, Leganes, Valencia

It's not that Barcelona won because of his teammates, it was his insane creativity from everywhere. He has 5 assists, while Ronaldo has 3. Ronaldo also hit the post 8 times this season and I can remember about 6 phenomenal saves by the GKs. Without being absurd and as objective as possible, we needed 13 penalties until we got 1. And we had injuries. And Ronaldo got a 5 game unfair ban. And Benzema missed like 8 decisive, 3pts winning goals. And a lot of bad luck.

This is the reality we live in, you have to look at both situations as objective as possible. And I repeat it today, in December, we lost the league a while ago. It's standard RM in the last 10 years or so. We are slow starters, injury prone in these months. We gift away pts way too easily and we don't take advantage of Barca's mistakes. Add bad luck and bad refereeing and there you go. It's all good, though. These last years have been phenomenal, of course this run was bound to come to an end. I'm not annoyed at anything, just like kw said earlier. I don't even mention Messi when I post about Cristiano, there's other people doing that and being butthurt. How could I be annoyed? But, again, you're too quick to bury RM and Cristiano, you never learn.

And btw kw, Argentina winning Copa America would have been pretty much irrelevant, since it's crap compared to the Euros and the WC, if you want to compare him to Cristiano. That's the thing, it's not a coin flip, it's about 4 finals where the supposedly ET-GOAT-D10S had the chance to dribble past 8 players and score, like he always does. Score every FK he shoots, like he always does. Create 10+ chances per game, like he always does. And he didn't, because he's not good enough and on top of that, he's a bad leader.

So, enjoy these goals and insane creativity from everywhere against Espanyol and Eibar, because the first decent team will KO them out of the CL and Messi won't win the WC either.
