As no-one in this forum seems to give a **** about making OPs, here I go again. It got a bit longer than expected, but oh well.

Summaries of last season:

Bundesliga:

Bayern dominated the league for most of last season, winning the title with four games to go. It was their only major title of last season thoguh, as they were knocked out in the by Barca in the CL and Dortmund in the cup. Wolfsburg and Gladbach rounded off the Top 3 and CL spots, with Leverkusen coming in 4th for the play-off. Schalke had a rather unsuccessful season, and finished 6th, behind the surprise of the season Augsburg in 5th. Dortmund was in relegation trouble for most of last season, but managed to sneak in to 7th for an EL qualification spot at least. Tuchel will now take over from Klopp.

Speaking of relegation drama. Six clubs were still fighting against relegation on the last matchday. Hannover, Stuttgart and Hertha held the league directly, while HSV used their humongous horseshoe up their ass to save themselves through the play-off against KSC.

La Liga:

After the shocking Atletico title run in 2013-14, the Spanish league was back to their usual "Barca vs. Real" way of deciding the title. In total, the two clubs scored 228 goals and conceded 59, with Real having the better offense, and Barca conceding less, which led them to winning the league by 2 points in the end. After no title in 2015, Real sacked Ancelotti and now will start into new adventures with Rafa Benitez. Atletico pretty much held on to 3rd for the entire season. Valencia got the CL play-off place by finishing 4th, Sevilla finished 5th, but shipped the EL and is therefore qualified for the CL group stage. Villareal and Malaga round off the international spots.

At the other end of the table, Cordoba pretty much never stood a chance in the league. Winning their last league match (3 wins total) in January, they only managed to get 3 points out of their last 20 games, and were relegated with three games to go. The rest of the relegation battle was closer, with teams fighting until the last matchday. Ultimately, Almeria fell in 19th and was relegated, while underdog Eibar finished in 18th and was supposed to be relegated as well. But three weeks ago, Elche (originally 13th) was relegated because of ~€8M of unpaid taxes. So Eibar will get a second chance in La Liga!

Serie A:

After a hard fought battle in the 2013-14 season, Juventus breezed through the league in 2014-15, winning their fourth Scudetto on the bounce, finishing 17 points ahead of 2nd place Roma in the end. They also managed to win the cupfor the first time in 20 years. They were denied the triple though, losing to Barca in the CL final.

The CL spots are filled by the clubs of Rome, with Lazio edged out Napoli for 3rd after a dramatic 4-2 against them in the last match of the season. Napoli fell down to 5th and will play EL alongside Fiorentina and Sampdoria.

Two teams down the bottom were relegated by quite a margin: Cesena and Parma, the latter being BUSTO and getting relegated to Serie D (4th tier). Cagliari was the third team to be relegated.

Ligue 1:

For long parts of the season, the battle for the French title looked to be the most interesting. 3, sometimes four teams fought for the top spot until matchday 30, but in the end PSG managed to win the league by 8 points, winning their last 9 league games. Lyon is back in the CL after finishing 2nd ahead of Monaco in 3rd (CL Playoff). Marseille and Saint-Etienne will play the EL. Evian Thonon Gaillard (löl french), FC Metz and RC Lens were relegated.

Eredivisie:

After four Ajax titles in a row, PSV broke through and won the league pretty comfortably (17 points ahead of Ajax). This was their first title since 2007-08. Ajax will play the CL quali, Alkmaar and Vitesse will play EL. Breda, Go Ahead Eagles and Dordrecht were relegated.

Promoted teams:

Bundesliga:

The two promoted teams are Audi-'sponsored' Ingolstadt, who will play in the 1. Bundesliga for the first time, and Darmstadt 98, who shocked the league by doing what was originally expected from Red Bull Leipzig - getting back-to-back promotions. They were supposed to get relegated to the 4th tier in May 2013, but because Offenbach getting no license for the 3rd league, they got another shot, then won the relegation play-off against Bielefeld with a last-minute goal in extra time to get to the 2nd league. Now, they finished 2nd to get direct promotion to the top division. As Norman Chad once put it: "This is beyond fairytale, it's inconceivable".

La Liga:

Real Betis Sevilla managed to gain promotion right after being relegated last season. Sporting Gijon spent three years in the 2nd divion, and is now back as well. UD Las Palmas, who played their last top-flight season in 01-02, won their spot in the league via the play-offs between 3rd to 6th. Both seimfinals and the final (all two-legged) were decided by away goals, with Las Palmas losing 3-1 away to Zaragoza and locking it up with a 2-0 home victory in the final.

Serie A:

If you look at the top of last years Serie B table, you might say something like "What?" or "Whooo?". The two promoted teams at the top are Carpi FC and Frosinone Calcio. Carpi spent two seasons in Serie B after getting promoted, while Frosinone pulled a Darmstadt and shot from 3rd tier to Serie A in two seasons. Both will play their first ever Serie A season, with Carpi having some 1st tier experience dating back to 1919-1922 (before Serie A). The third team to be promoted was decided by a weird 6-team-playoff, which culminated in Pescara 'winning' the final against Bologna by 1-1 and 0-0, but Bologna getting promoted anyway because they had placed 4th in the league to Pescara finishing 7th. Cliffs: ??? => LÖL Italy!

Ligue 1:

France doesn't mess around with fancy playoffs. The three promoted teams are ESTAC Troyes, winning League 2 comfortably. They will be joined by Gazelec Ajaccio (not to be confused with recently-relegated AJ Ajaccio, and also getting back-to-back promotions) and Angers SCO, who played their last Ligue 1 season back in 1993-94.

Eredivisie:

NEC Nijmegen (relegated in 2014) won the 2nd division, the other two spots were decided in a 10(!)-team playoff, out of which Roda Kerkrade (relegated in 2014) and De Graafschap (relegated in 2012) emerged victorious.

DER MARKT:

Bundesliga: Bayern 1.12, Dortmund 21, Wolfsburg 21, Leverkusen 41, Gladbach 51
La Liga: Barca 1.73, Real 2.75, Atletico 21, Sevilla/VAlencia 67
Serie A: Juventus 1.7, Roma 8.5, Napoli 10, Milan 17 Inter 17, Lazio 18, Fiorentina 41
Ligue 1: PSG 1.17, Lyon 15, Monaco 17, Marseille 22
Eredivisie: PSV 2.38, Ajax 2.63, Feyenoord 7.5, Vitesse 34, Alkmaar 51

Good OP

I won't bet on it personally, but RM only having to win it 37% of the times for you to make a profit seems decent (although having to lock up the funds for 11 months, so prob. like 40%).

That deciding €8m figure is just insane compared to the €€€ the top teams are throwing around.

1.12 on bayern seems like a decent price for essentially a 7 month deposit

true odds feel like closer to 99.x%

On a serious note, I was sure you would say something about not including SCOTLAND. Could have also put in Portugal, Turkey, Russia and whatever. OP was long enough

On a more serious note than lolScotland, there's an argument for making a German thread. The volume of posting related to random (2nd) Bundesliga matches compared to the other countries can at time be pretty high. Not unlike those 2 page rants about Hibernian vs Dundee Utd :-)
