Some of it is just bad luck, but the human factor is still important. Most people have probably worked or played in an environment where they don't feel they are valued, respected or whatever by either colleagues or management, and performance suffers.

This is often rectified by moving to another job or team and have someone blow smoke up your ass.

If money is tight, it seems super weird to pass up on Werner but go for Thiago. Rumoured fee for the latter is around £30m so a fair bit cheaper, but presumably after wages it'll come out about the same

I am aware that's not a popular opinion but at the end of the day when you look at the chances that Brazil and PSG concede when you look at who could have done better it's usually Marquinhos, never Thiago Silva. He's not as strong on the air and on one-on-one's as he should be playing for these top teams IMO.

Yeah quite unpopular indeed. Around the people i know, everybody in the team got badmouthed at some point, even Verratti, M'Bappé and TS but never Marquinhos. He is a beast one on one i really don't get it, you can't outsmart the guy and you can't outpace him.

I know I am the only one comparing him to Thiago Silva but I find that TS is better than him in every aspect. Better on the air, positioning, and 1 on 1's. Marquinhos gives me no confidence.

And there you go. Now the whole team has been badmouthed. It was bound to happen

The thing is this is very much my own opinion only. He is highly regarded in Brazil but seems that at least Tite agreed with me by benching him days before the WC after he was a starter for 4 years.

Probaby better than Dante but TS/Marqui is the biggest giftwrap CB combo OAT for any NT coach.

Miranda is currently valued at 12$ so not sure where he was at 2 years ago

I had forgot about this random button clicking by Tite but Brazil is the only nation that can hang with France when it comes to random button clicking over the past 20 years, its hard to keep track

200-220 is with all performance bonuses paid out. Like hitting CL (good luck).
Base salary ~100k and then a sign on of ~10m which is roughly 160k total.
