City are 2/1 to beat Tottenham on first day. Great price imo since it's bound to fall once City splurge on some players.

That's why all flowcharts should have a disclaimer at the bottom.

honestly do you think the people that make these markets are not cognisant of these facts? there is a % chance that city buy loads of good players, and there is a % chance that they buy no-one special/one overpaid prima donna that wont do anything, and given cities activity in the market last season, its got to be closer to the latter then the former.

Spurs last 6 home results for last season were 6 victories, including a comprehensive beating of Man City.. so I really dont think its accurate to say that 2/1 is a 'great price' at all, and all this is notwithstanding the fact that if you backed them now you would be tying up your bank for a couple of months hoping to lay out at 6/4 or w/e which would allow you to green up at a very small g'teed profit!

These markets arent as efficient as you think. 'Argentina to win WC' was fluctuating wildly between 7.0 and 5.8 today during SK match, even though pretty much nothing changed wrt their chances.

A ton of people will see 'City to buy Gerrard for 100M' or whatever and think ooh that improves them, i'll put a bet on.

Spurs owning City needs to be mentioned as well. The results are fairly staggering.

City also could not get all of their business done in time and be a bit disjointed for the opening match.

That being said I don't think it's ever going to be worse than 2/1 for City to win so there is that. I don't think the odds will close dramatically though. You aren't ever going to see it even money or City being favored.

Luckily for Spurs the first qualifying match is after City instead of them being sandwhiched in between.

Interestingly enough, the first flowchart basically lead me to Villa while the 2nd one lead me to Everton*.

*There were a few places where it could have been fine branching one way or the other so I went the direction that lead to these 2.

So, is there like a glossary of soccer terms and stuff. Maybe some stuff on how buying players and transacitons and **** works? Some stuff about the premiership and EPL or w/e the **** it is and how teams can get sent to lower leagues would be cool. Maybe a thing on the different tournies they play thorughout the year and which ones are more important and stuff would be gr8. You know, just wanna know some stuff..

Line of credit FTW. You can play these edges profitably if you don't have to front the cash.

Too early to make predictions imo i'll wait till after the dust has settled on the WC i think but i will make one
Spoiler:
Cashy to be banned at some point this season

I think it could be an exciting season, interested in how Liverpool do, they're like an institution is it all about to implode?

As for the mighty Spurs, again i'm interested (ldo) to see if they can build on last season and maybe push on... i think it depends who we get up front and how they handle the PL and CL games

sure we get essien and bossy back, but neither of them have gone long periods without injury recently. a long term injury to either bosingwa or iva could leave us stretched at the back.
Chelsea are at least in better financial shape than a lot of their rivals. They have never really lit up the transfer window with rumors but I am sure they will get some cover. Are Man City really going to get everyone they are linked with with no CL?

Ok I need a team to cheer for. I've always enjoyed soccer but never had a team to cheer for so I wasn't emotionally attached. Hopefully you guys can help me pick a team that I can support. Some history. Born and raised in San Diego and I am a die hard believer of you cheer for the home team. I only root for San Diego teams, and I'm with them thick and thin no matter how the season turns out(hell I even started both the Chargers and Padres single team threads). It makes it kind of hard to pick a "home team" seeing as I live on the other side of the pond. Any suggestions?

Edit: Thinking about it some more, obv i prefer a team that doesn't really have a chance at being relegated, would suck to only be able to cheer for a team for a year.
